Today’s focus is particularly sunny: sunflowers! We have a new layering stamp set, a couple of outline sets, and a beautiful background. Let’s get started on my projects!
For my first project, I chose to work with the Sunflower background and the beautiful new Fresh Cut Sunflowers layering set. I didn’t get the dies in time to use them for my release crafting, so, after stamping all of the flowers using the Citrine Collection, Crystal Garden Collection, and Cocoa Collection inks, I fussy cut them and set them aside. I then stamped the new Sunflower Garden background on a panel of white A2 card stock using Beach Blondie, then blended a bit of the same color around the outer edges of the panel. I die cut a small square of linen vellum using the Small Stitched Square dies, then embossed a sentiment from the Fresh Cut Sunflowers using gold sparkle embossing powder. I arranged all of the cut pieces and hid the dimensional adhesive behind the sunflowers. The final step was to add some of the new Belle’s Dress sequins mix.
My last card for today was a fun one to create. I simply stamped the new Sunflower Bouquet using some Versafine and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. I then used my Distress Inks to watercolor the sunflowers. I chose to use the Distress Inks because the yellows are a bit more muted than those in the Zig line. I simply tapped my Distress pads onto a clear block, then painted them directly onto the Canson Montval watercolor paper. I fussy cut them out (can’t wait to get those dies!) and tied a bit of twine around the stem and did a bow.
I die cut a frame using the Small Stitched Rectangle and the regular Stitched Rectangle using charcoal colored card stock. I adhered my Sunflower Bouquet to the frame, then popped it up on a panel of pale yellow card stock using dimensional adhesive. The last step was to add a greeting using the banner from Thankful Cornucopia that I die cut from watercolor card stock and added some shading with a Zig marker.
