Now, let’s get started on my final projects for this week’s festivities! The second I saw the artwork for the new Anemone Wishes set, I knew I wanted to use my pencils for some no-line coloring. Using my pencils on colored card stock is one of my absolute favorite techniques. I started by stamping the image using Hampton White pigment ink onto my lavender card stock panel. Next, going petal by petal, I colored the image first with a white colored pencil, then over the top with the colored pencils, using my blender pencil to smooth everything out. It’s amazing what adding that first layer of white pencil beneath the colored pencil does to make the colors really pop off of the colored card stock. After I had finished coloring the entire image, I used my T-ruler to add a white box around the edge to create a frame.
For the greeting, I used the beautiful new Penned Sentiments set. I simply heat embossed it with silver embossing powder. I trimmed a bit off of the bottom of the lavender panel and added some strips of pretty turquoise foil to the top and bottom of the card base. The final step was to mount the lavender panel on the card base with some foam tape.
This next card is a bit outside of my normal color scheme, but I kinda love it! I figured that, since I’d done pink and purple anemones all week, I should do some that were more traditionally colored. When I think of anemones, I think of red anemones with black centers, but anemones come in nearly every color of the rainbow! For my last card for this week, I started by stamping the beautiful Anemone Background onto some watercolor paper and heat embossing it in gold, then watercoloring it with my Daniel Smith watercolors, adding a dark gray/light black background wash. After it had dried, I used the largest of the Stitched Rectangles to die cut from the watercolored background.
I die cut the Brushed Love die from some glossy black card stock that I had in my stash, then added two more layers of plain black card stock die cuts and adhered them all together. I heat embossed a coordinating sentiment from the Brushed Love sentiment set using the same gold embossing powder onto some strips of black card stock, then popped them up on the card front. The final step was to add some Matte Gold sequins to create a visual cascade across the front of the card.
Now, for some giveaway fun:

Wow, these are gorgeous!
Emily both of your cards are really beautiful. Your first card colored with pencils is so pretty, and thanks for the helpful hint of coloring first with a white pencil when using colored card stock. I must give that a try. Your second card is gorgeous as well!
So beautiful! I just need to break down and buy the “love” set already!
There are so many things I love about your cards. Just reading this post I learned so many things. The “no line coloring” shading with white first, etc. The one technique I loved the most is about using a t-ruler to make a border. It really makes the border pop! I still can’t figure out how you made the insides of the petals look so 3-D. When I emboss it never looks like that. And your second card . . . WOW! The water coloring alone is AMAZING, but the whole card together stuns me. Thank you, blog hop for bringing me to your site 🙂
I just adore your cards, as always! Simply stunning!
Beautiful! Thanks for sharing!
