Good morning! Today is the beginning of a new challenge over at A Blog Named Hero. This month, we are collaborating with the fantastic Winnie and Walter, and our focus is:
What?! Florals?! Well, color me excited. 🙂 And luckily, Winnie and Walter has some absolutely beautiful florals!
To start, I heat embossed several of the blooms from Winnie and Walter’s Addie’s Garden onto some watercolor paper using Hero Arts‘s Brass Embossing Powder. I die cut them out with the coordinating dies from Winnie and Walter, then watercolored them in shades of raspberry and peach (isn’t that a dessert called Peach Melba?) using my Zig markers and a damp paintbrush.
I arranged them all in a cluster in the corner of my card front, then used a variety of liquid adhesive and dimensional foam adhesive to adhere them.
For the greeting, I used one of Hero Arts‘s beautiful line of Stamp ‘n Cut stamp/die combo sets. The Peace Stamp ‘n Cut is normally used for holiday projects, but I thought that the sentiment would also work perfectly for a sympathy card. I die cut the peace die from some raspberry colored card stock three times, trimming a bit off of the top so that I could overlap the die cut sentiment with the florals. I then stamped the “to you and your family” using Hero Arts‘s Raspberry Jam ink. (One of my favorite pink inks!) I also covered the die cut sentiment in Wink of Stella for some subtle shimmer.
The final touch was to scatter a few sequins around to add a touch of shine.
Well, that’s all for me today! Now, it’s your turn! Use your Hero Arts products (and your Winnie and Walter, if you have them) to create a floral-themed project, link it up to our blog post, and you could win a prize from our fantastic sponsor, Winnie and Walter!
