Hi there! I have a special project for you this evening…. Honey Bee Stamps is collaborating with Simon Says Stamp to bring you the final special release for this year’s Stamptember, called Remarkable You! Honey Bee Stamps is known for their beautiful sentiment builder sets… they’re SO versatile and those fonts cannot be beaten. I chose to pair it with one of the new sets from Honey Bee’s latest release: Gather Together!
The sentiments in Remarkable You can be used for SO many different occasions; I don’t know that I’ve ever seen the word “remarkable” as a focal sentiment for a stamp set before, so I wanted to work with it. I thought the little family of different animals…. a “remarkable” grouping, if you will…. would be the perfect pairing for this greeting. I started by stamping the sweet little critter family from Gather Together onto some card stock made for colored pencils (but plain white card stock works just as well!) using black ink, then colored all of the critters with my Prismacolor pencils. I have discovered that I love using pencils with the critters, because you can really control the depth and level of of detail with pencils in all of those little nooks and crannies.
After I had finished coloring my little critter family, I cut a 5.5″ square card base, then blended some Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxide ink using one of the sun ray stencils from the Ocean Scene Builder stencil set, turning it at an angle to create sun rays in the corner of the card front. I stamped the greeting using black ink on some white card stock, then trimmed them out and popped the greeting and the critter family up with foam tape. Finally, I added some Indian Summer sequins (a new mix from the latest Honey Bee release!) to add some sparkle.
And that’s all for this card! If you like the looks of Remarkable You, I’d suggest purchasing it ASAP, because these Stamptember sets are limited edition!! I hope you’ve enjoyed all of the Stamptember festivities…. so much inspiration and fun new sets! Have a marvelous weekend, friends!
I LOVE this. So cute. Those animals are spectacular. What’s the special paper for pencils? I need some…
