Good morning! Happy Monday! I hope you had a wonderful weekend. We have lots of different Halloween celebrations in our town, so my kiddos have been excited about that all weekend… and it turned cold just in time for all of the parades and trick or treating…. Boo. I have a pretty watercolored card for you today; I sneaked the main floral panel during the last Daily Marker 30 Day challenge and turned the panel into a card last week!
For this project, I wanted to focus on the absolutely gorgeous image from Wplus9’s Kind Soul Stamp set (SSS|EH). I’ve used this stamp set with colored pencils before, and but it looks completely different using watercolors. I started by stamping and heat embossing the main image with super fine silver embossing powder onto some Arches Cold Press watercolor paper (DB|SSS).
Next, I watercolored the image using Rose of Ultramarine, Moonglow, Cerulean Blue, Deep Sea Green, and Naples Yellow Daniel Smith watercolors. I added a halo around the edge of the florals using Payne’s Gray. I trimmed the top and bottom of the watercolored panel and mounted it on a piece of A2 sized navy blue card stock.
For the greeting, I used an older Wplus9 die set: Hand Lettered Thanks (SSS|EH) and the coordinating stamp set (SSS|EH). I die cut the sentiment once from silver foil card stock, then again three more times from regular white card stock and stacked them all together with liquid adhesive. I added the sentiment strip on regular white card stock and popped it up with dimensional adhesive.
Well, that’s all for me today. I hope you have a marvelous week, friends!
Emily, this card is simply stunning and this stamp set is one of my favorites too. Beautiful work as always!
