Good morning! Happy Thanksgiving week! (Ahem, also, Happy Black Friday Sales week! Yikes, this year has gone by SO fast.) I’m here today with a pair of quick and easy holiday cards that would be super simple to mass produce. If you’re like me and down to the holiday card crunch, quick and easy is the order of the day. However, I am not a HUGE fan of mass producing. I can do it, but it’s not something on my list of fun things to do… To make it more interesting for myself, whenever I make multiples of any project, I like to switch things up a little bit, whether it’s with layout, color scheme, embellishments, etc.
This is our first Christmas in our new house, and I’ve discovered that it has room for two Christmas trees (YAY): one colorful and festive family tree with all of my husband’s childhood ornaments and our kiddos’ ornaments, and an elegant aqua and silver tree. My aqua and silver (aka “fancy” tree) inspired the color combination for these projects. I used some fantastic holiday products from Altenew to create my “gifts” to match my pretty, fancy tree! For the “gift wrap,” I started with the Altenew’s Layered Plaid Die B (ALT|EH|SSS), cutting once from a shimmery teal and once from silver foil card stock. I then layered the teal on an A2 panel of aqua card stock and the silver on a white A2 card base.
Next, I used Altenew’s Bells and Bows (ALT|EH|SSS) stamp set to create some amazingly realistic-looking gift bows to adorn my “gifts.” I stamped the layers using Altenew’s Ocean Waves and Dusk inks, then used the coordinating dies to cut them out. Don’t they look almost multi-dimensional? It amazes me sometimes what you can do with stamps and ink. Anyway, I created some “ribbon” for my gifts by cutting strips of silver glitter and teal shimmer paper, then adhering them on my card front, popping up the bow with some dimensional adhesive. For the greeting, I used a “joy” die from Taylored Expressions that seems to be discontinued…. but this Joy from MFT would work just as well.
Easy peasy, right? I love simple cards that still make an impact.
That’s all for me today! I have a fun series planned in December, but I have to get all of my supplies in first before I can decide an official date. Let’s just say I’m going to put our family pictures to good use. 😉 Have a marvelous Monday, friends!
Oh My God I can’t even shorten that with an omg that is beautiful I wish I could afford to recreate this it is so beautiful!
