Hi there! I have a piiiiiink card to share with you today… I’ve been in love with red this past holiday season, so much so that I’ve designated my kitchen and family room holiday decor as the “kitschy Santa” area, which means lots and lots of cherry red. It’s soo pretty. But I will freely admit that I very rarely use red at any other time of the year, including in my crafting adventures. Now that we’re done with Christmas, may I just say that Pink is the New Red? Ha!
I hadn’t had a chance to play with this lovely set from Concord and 9th called Bits and Pieces. It was released a few months ago, maybe in November, and I finally had a chance to play with it. As with ALL C9 sets, the Bits and Pieces set is crazy versatile. Seriously, I need practically an entire day just to play with this set. I have always adored stripes and flowers, so I thought I’d start with that clever little stripe stamp.
I started by stamping the lines using Altenew’s Pure Graphite ink, then added the flowers using Altenew’s Cosmic Berry and Purple Wine inks. The mustard leaves were stamped with Papertrey Ink’s Saffron Spice ink, which is a lovely yellow-y, green-y color and perfect for when I want to do a little something unique for leaves. Next, I die cut the lovely oblong hexagon shape from the Blooms Fill In die set from Concord and 9th once from white card stock and once from some magenta card stock that matched the Purple Wine ink. I cut the magenta piece in half and adhered them both to the white die cut, but slightly offset.
After I had adhered the hexagon die cut to the striped panel using dimensional adhesive, I added a dark gray die cut “happy” from the Bits and Pieces die set. I die cut and stamped a few flowers with the Bits and Pieces and added them to the tag piece. The final touch was a few Sparkling Clear sequins scattered around.
Well, are you in love with this set? There are so many amazing little snippets that you can use this set in about a bajillion different ways. (Technical terminology right there!) I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to pull it out! Anyway, I hope you have a marvelous day!
