Concord and 9th Feature Friday, Volume 4!

Good morning! Today is the final installment of the Where Creativity Meets C9‘s Feature Friday for Concord and 9th’s 3rd Birthday Month! It’s been such an honor to help Concord and 9th celebrate their third birthday this month… They’re truly one of my most favorite companies, and seeing them do so well makes me so happy. Congratulations to Greg and Angie on another successful year! This week, we are focusing on my personal favorite set from the August release (as though there was a doubt, right?): Grateful For Everything. I have always adored Concord and 9th’s floral stamp sets, and this one made me swoon with delight. I colored it with Polychromos pencils in this blog post, so I thought I’d do some watercoloring with my Daniel Smith watercolors for this week’s final Feature Friday post.

I began by heat embossing the gorgeous bouquet from Grateful For Everything twice onto some watercolor paper using Bronze embossing powder. I wanted something a bit bolder than gold, so I went for Bronze. I then taped my panel down to my cutting board to reduce warping and used my Daniel Smith watercolors in shades of Naphthamide Maroon, Quinacridone Lilac, Bloodstone Genuine, Raw Sienna, Green Apatite Genuine, Undersea Green, and Olive Green. (I’ll link them all individually below.)

While my panel was drying (still taped to the cutting board), I die cut my greeting. I used the Just Because dies to cut a bronze metallic frame as well as the sentiment from pearlescent white card stock to make it pop against that colorful background. I made sure that my watercolored panel was completely dry, adhered my greeting, then added a few jewels for some sparkle.
