Good morning! Today, along with the rest of the Where Creativity Meets C9 Design Team, I am helping Concord and 9th introduce their new products for the month of August each Friday as part of their Feature Friday! Today, we are focusing on the new Top It Off stamps and dies. I chose to create a wedding cake instead of the expected birthday cake, so let’s get started with all of the details!
I started by heat embossing all three layers of cake from Top It Off onto white card stock using some sparkly embossing powder, then fussy cut them all in one piece. I then die cut the beautiful “Eat Cake” cake topper from the coordinating die set for Top It Off three times from plain white card stock and adhered them together to create a dimensional die cut. I added the cake to the card front using dimensional foam adhesive, then adhered the cake topper using liquid adhesive.
After adding the main components to my card front, I decided to embellish the cake with a few flowers and some foliage from the Just Because die set. I cut the flowers and some leaves from plain white card stock, with some vellum sprigs to add a little textural interest, then placed them on the cake with liquid adhesive, creating a definite wedding cake vibe for this cake.
The final step was to add some white Nuvo drops to the centers of the flowers for even more texture and dimension.
Well, that’s all for me today! Thanks so much for dropping by, and be sure to visit the rest of the Where Creativity Meets C9 team’s projects using the new Concord and 9th release products. I hope you’ll come back next Friday to see the next Feature Friday featuring the new Concord and 9th 3rd Birthday release! Have a marvelous day!
