Good morning! Today marks the release of a brand new Essentials By Ellen Leading Lady release! This month, we’re focusing on the the other people who might be in the Leading Ladies’ lives… a Leading Gentleman and a Little Lady! (She needed a man in her life, right?) We also have a host of other, super clever dies for your crafting pleasure! I’ve created two cards using the sweet Little Lady today, and the Leading Gentleman is making an appearance in this month’s Exploring With Emily series. (I’ll give you a little sneak peek at the end of the blog post!) Let’s get started with the details!

For my first project, I just had to color that sweet little girl from Little Lady and her flower crown! She reminds me of my own little missy, so I did a little masking, a little stamping, and colored her up with some pretty coral Copics (Pantone Color of the Year, anyone?). I even added some hearts to her leggings!

After I’d finished coloring the little chickie up with my Copic markers, I began work on the background. I used a Hero Arts Oval Infinity Die to die cut a window opening on a white A2 card front, then backed with some acetate. I placed my Little Lady approximately where I wanted her, then used Coral Bliss ink to stamp a flurry of butterflies, filling in some of the gaps with some fine black dots. I also used my MISTI to get perfect placement for my sentiment on the card base (from Little Lady), then blended some more coral ink lightly. I filled the shaker with some pretty sequins, then adhered the card front using foam adhesive.

For my second project today, I used the Little Lady stamp set combined with the new Starry Night background die! I am absolutely loving these massive background dies, because they can be oriented both horizontally and vertically across an A2 card front! I began by die cutting the new Starry Night background die from some white card stock, then blending Blueprint Sketch, Wilted Violet, and Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide Inks to create a lovely sunset. I backed the open die cut stars with some gold glitter card stock, adding some sparkle to the card front.

Next, I turned my attention to the sweet little lady. I wanted to pair her with the “Reach for the stars” sentiment included in Little Lady, so I simply colored her with my Copic markers, adding some little black polka dots to her leggings. I die cut some grass using the Honey Bee Stamps Grass Border die from dark and light green card stock, then adhered them using both liquid and dimensional adhesive. For the greeting, I swiped my Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide Ink pad directly on a panel of white card stock, allowed it to dry, then heat embossed the “Reach for the stars” sentiment in white and popped it up on the panel using dimensional foam adhesive.

Now, for a sneak peek of my next Exploring with Emily project…. not only do we have a Little Lady, but we now also have a Leading Gentleman! I fashioned this one after my redheaded hubby and sent him on a date with the City Lady. Stay tuned next week for all of the details on my newest installment to the Exploring with Emily series!
