Hi there! You’ve seen the sneak peeks on Instagram and the Ellen Hutson blog all week… now all of the fabulous new stamps and dies for the February 2019 Essentials By Ellen release are available for sale! We have some adorable new coffee themed products, some lovely new word dies, and a gorgeous new addition to the Mondo Flower line (that you’re going to see a lot of from me!!).

Up first, I have a chalkboard card using the new A Breve Note stamp and die set. For some reason, coffee themed sets always put me in mind of a trendy coffeehouse chalkboard. I began by die cutting and heat embossing the French press coffee pot and lovely floral patterned coffee cup onto some black card stock using white embossing powder. Next, I used a plain white pencil to create some shadows and “chalk” lines.

I heat embossed the greeting from A Breve Note onto a panel of black card stock, then popped up the cup and coffee pot after stamping some coffee beans and steam using white pigment ink. I also used my T-square to add some white lines around the edge for a frame.

For my second card for today’s post, I thought I’d showcase that gorgeous new Mondo Gerbera Daisy. It paired beautifully with the Mondo Hydrangea stamp set. The bouquet on this card was almost my wedding bouquet; I was waffling between blue and yellow and blue and white for my wedding, so this combination has special meaning for me! I stamped the Mondo Gerbera Daisy on some masking paper as well as on an A2 panel of Arches Cold Press watercolor paper, then mounted the daisy mask on the watercolor paper and added some hydrangeas and foliage from the Mondo Hydrangea.

I then used Daniel Smith watercolors to watercolor a bright yellow daisy and some pretty blue-y purple hydrangeas. (I will link individual colors at the end of the post.) I also die cut the “hi friend” from the coordinating dies for the Mondo Gerbera Daisy (I love that they filled in that empty space of the quite large die by adding those pretty calligraphic word dies! More bang for your buck that way!) using some black card stock, then adhered it to the watercolored panel using liquid adhesive. I also added some Crystal Lacquer to the word die cuts for a bit of shine.

Isn’t that daisy just gorgeous?? These Mondo flowers are some of my absolute most favorite stamps. The scale is so perfect for practicing shading.
Well, that’s all for my projects today! I have several more using some of the new sets, but I’ll share them in a few days. 😉 Be sure to stop by the Ellen Hutson blog for more details on all of the different stamp sets and to see more inspiration from my fellow Design Ambassadors. Thanks so much for stopping by today, and have a marvelous weekend!

Great cards!! I love the little coffee chalkboard.
