Hi there! Have you all been playing along with The Daily Marker 30 Day Challenge? My goal with each challenge is to try to color for fun each day throughout the challenge and dedicate time to posting it. This time, I’ve been so busy that I have been combining it with assignments, but the coloring is still super fun! And one of the projects that I created just for fun uses the new Concord and 9th release for February 2019. I saw the new Pretty Poppy stamp set at Creativation and have been dyyyying to color it ever since. The Daily Marker 30 Day challenge was the perfect excuse to really dig into those details. I have two projects to show you today using new goodies from the Concord and 9th release, so let’s get started with the details!

For my first project, I wanted to use those super clever and fun new Peek Through Patterns stamps and dies. The dies use partial cuts to create a window with a word die cut in your card front. I used the “friend” die to cut a window from some black card stock, then used a pencil to mark on an A2 white panel where the die cut openings were so that I could jazz up the background of the window! I used the coordinating Peek Through Patterns stamp set (which is super versatile and useful in its own right, even without the dies!) to stamp a pretty fuchsia and charcoal floral pattern in the background. I heat embossed the “for a wonderful” from the Peek Through Patterns set using white embossing powder. Nice and flat and easy to mail!

My second project features the coloring that I did for The Daily Marker 30 Day challenge. My favorite floral stamps are the ones with large petals that I can really practice getting good shading and depth with, the ones that have enough space so that I can really dig into the details. I stamped the blooms from the Pretty Poppy stamp set in a little arrangement using Ink On 3 Fadeout ink onto some Copic-friendly white card stock, then used a combination of RV09, RV66, V06, and RV99 to color some super vibrant fuchsia poppies.

After I’d carefully fussy cut the poppy image, I die cut the gorgeous “hello” from the new Hey There die set using silver glitter card stock. I also stamped the white banner using a sentiment from the new Hey There Turnabout stamp set (which includes not only the turnabout stamp, but also fills in any extra spaces with fabulous sentiments!)

I mounted the fussy cut poppy and die cut elements to a panel of black A2 card stock using foam tape, then added a few Sparkling Clear sequins for some added texture and sparkle.
Well, that’s all for me today! I definitely encourage you to check out the newest Concord and 9th release… there are SO many fun products in there. If only there were infinite hours in the day… sigh. Thanks so much for stopping by, and have a marvelous weekend!

Just love those colours together. Seriously gorgeous 💗
