Good morning! Today is the first Monday of the month, so that means that we have new My Monthly Hero kit release and blog hop! This month’s kit is an ocean-lover’s dream…. the kit itself features some beautiful underwater flora and fauna, as well as one of those fantastic, super detailed cover plates that are so commonly found in the My Monthly Hero kits. You should have arrived from Caly Person’s blog and your next stop is Ilina Crouse’s blog.

The kit contents value over $75, but the price is only $34.99! A fantastic deal if ever there was one. Included in the kit:
6×8 stamp set
27 coordinating frame cuts
5.5″x4.25″ Aquarium Fancy Die
3 Water Reactive Ink Cubes (Sea Salt, Sea Glass, Blue Water)
Blue and Green Droplets
We also have a bunch of fun add-ons for you, as well! You can check them out here!

These kits frequently sell out, and once they’re gone, they’re gone… so don’t wait and miss out! You can also subscribe to make sure that you get first dibs every month. The kits will begin shipping from the warehouse on Friday, March 8th.
I have two projects for you today, so let’s get started with the details!

For my first project today, I wanted to combine the kit with one of the beautiful add-on background stamps that were also released today: Jellyfish Party Bold Prints. I began by swiping the teal reactive ink included in the kit directly onto some white card stock to get a beautifully saturated panel. I made sure that it was completely dry before embossing theJellyfish Party Bold Prints background on the panel in silver embossing powder, then used a water brush to lift some of the color. This reactive ink almost bleaches when water is added to it, similar to the way you can lift watercolor by wetting it and dabbing with a paper towel or cloth. I also added some shimmer pen to create a magical, undersea effect, and die cut an oval using the Oval Infinity Dies from Hero Arts.

Next, I heat embossed several of the ocean floor elements from the main kit onto some more white card stock using silver sparkle embossing powder. I die cut them with the coordinating frame cuts, then embossed a greeting (also from the kit) onto a strip of white card stock using the same sparkle embossing powder. I mounted the jellyfish panel to a white A2 card base, then added the silver sparkle die cuts and sentiment using foam tape. The final touch was a few sequins for some more sparkle!

For my second project today, I wanted to use some of the super cute add-ons. I began by stamping the Bubbles Bold Prints background onto some vellum using Versamark ink, then heat embossed some sparkle embossing powder to create sparkly, translucent bubbles! I also stamped several elements from the Under the Sea stamp set using Intense Black ink onto Copic-friendly white card stock, then colored them in using my Copic markers and die cut them using the coordinating frame cuts.

I arranged the aquarium elements on the bottom of the sparkly bubbled panel, then used a combination of liquid and dimensional foam adhesive to adhere them all. To sneakily adhere the vellum panel to an A2 panel of Hero Hues Adriatic card stock, I flipped over the vellum panel, then added adhesive tape to the back of the die cuts. Using the adhesive tape prevents the adhesive from squishing out the sides and being seen, like a liquid adhesive would do. I adhered it to the Adriatic panel, then added a few sequins to look like bubbles floating up from the different aquarium elements.
