Hi there! Today is the release day for the newest installment of the Altenew Build A Flower release- this month, we’re focusing on that harbinger of spring: Crocus! You should have arrived here from Seeka’s blog, and mine is the last stop on the hop, so once you’re done with my project, you’re all finished! 🙂

This series boasts a different full size 6×8 stamp set and coordinating dies featuring a different flower for each month for only $34.99! You can also purchase a combination pack with layering inks to coordinate with the layering stamps. Talk about doing all of the work for you! For my project today, I created a super bright (and pink!) long card using these new stamps, so let’s get started with the details!

I began by stamping several blooms and some foliage from the new Build A Flower Crocus stamp set and die cutting them with the coordinating dies. I used the Spring Bouquet ink grouping to stamp both the flowers and the leaves… those vibrant pinks and greens were a perfect pairing with these beautiful blooms!

Next, I trimmed a long card base… I always seem to stick to A2 cards, and this time I wanted to do something a little different, and as these Build A Flower Crocus blooms are such a substantial size, I thought a larger canvas might look nice with them! I trimmed a card front to 4.5×8″, then blended some green and blue ink in opposite corners with my blender brushes. I arranged the blooms in the bottom corner with the green (to give the illusion of greenery or grass nearby), and adhered it to the card front using foam adhesive. I then decided there needed to be some kind of texture to the “sky” in the opposite corner, so tapped a little of the blue ink on my mat, picked it up with a wet paintbrush, and flicked it at the blue corner on my card front!

I added a greeting from the Build A Flower Crocus, stamped on white card stock using Jet Black ink and trimmed down to strips, which I adhered on the bottom of the card base in a cluster over the floral bouquet. The final touch was some gems to add some sparkle! https://altenewblog.com/CrocusTo celebrate today’s Build A Flower Crocus, release, Altenew is giving away a $30 gift certificate to 6 lucky winners!
