Hi there! Today, I have the pleasure of taking part in the Altenew July 2019 Release Blog Hop! You should have arrived here from Nathalie DeSousa‘s blog, and your next stop is Mindy Eggen‘s blog. You can also start at the Altenew Card Blog for the full list of hoppers! This month’s release has (amongst the multitude of fabulous products) some beautiful florals (of course) and some fun, edgy geometric sets, as well as a handy and utterly useful new tool that you’ll definitely want to keep on your desk all the time! I have two projects for you today, so let’s get started with the details!

I have two projects today sharing a cool purple and blue color scheme. I decided that my color of choice is, quite obviously, pink, so I thought that I’d switch it up a bit this time with some cool lavender and delphinium blue. I used the beautiful new Pen Sketched Flowers stamps (the dies are unfortunately delayed until 8/8/19), as well as the gorgeous new Crystal Frames and matching frame dies. Let’s get started with the details on my projects!

For my first project, I wanted to use the beautiful new Pen Sketched Flowers. These flowers are massive, and they’re just detailed enough that you can go super intense with your coloring and shading, as I’ve done, or you can do something a bit more subtle if coloring isn’t really your thing. I began by stamping the images from Pen Sketched Flowers on some white, Copic-friendly card stock, then coloring them in a pretty lavender, blue, and mint color scheme. I then fussy cut (insert the scrunched face emoji here… so much fussy cutting) all of the flowers.

After I’d finished coloring and cutting all of the flowers, I trimmed a panel of 4.5×8″ card stock and, laying my card base on the new Silicone Craft Mat, blended first Ultraviolet ink with a touch of Azurite ink on the corner using blending brushes. (I love that new mat… ink blending clean up was an absolute breeze, and I didn’t need to waste any computer paper!) I then arranged the florals in a long cascade flowing down the card front and adhered them using foam tape.

For the greeting, I heat embossed a sentiment from the new Crystal Frames stamp set onto a rectangle of white card stock using black embossing powder. I added it in the bottom corner of the card front using more foam tape. The final touch was to add a few sparkling gems!

For my second project, I used the same color scheme, this time focusing on some layered stamping paired with the beautiful Geometric Frames dies. I began by stamping a variety of blooms from the Flower Arrangement stamp set using the Enchanted Garden ink set for the large blooms, the Lapis ink set for the smaller blooms, and the Sea Shore ink set for the foliage. I die cut the blooms using the coordinating dies and set them aside.

Next, I die cut one of the Geometric Frames dies three times from some deep purple card stock and adhered them together for a dimensional die cut. I arranged my flowers on the corner of the dimensional die cut frame, then used that to determine the placement of my sentiment from Crystal Frames. The final touch was some more sparkling jewels!
Well, that’s all for my projects today. Now for some fun giveaway information!
