Hi there! Today’s the day…. it’s the first Monday of the new month, so we have the newest My Monthly Hero release and blog hop to share with you today! This month’s kit is perfect for those difficult-to-create masculine cards. Let’s get started with some of the details!

In this month’s kit, you’ll receive a large 6×8 stamp set, coordinating frame cuts, 2 fancy dies, 5 ink cubes, 4 5.5×8.5 sheets of two new Hero Hues cardstock colors, and new blue pearl embossing powder, valued at over $75, all for $34.99! These kits frequently sell out, and once they’re gone, they’re gone… so don’t wait and miss out! You can also subscribe to make sure that you get first dibs every month. The kits will begin shipping from the warehouse on Friday, July 5th. I have two projects to share with you today, so let’s get started!

I will admit something… I struggle to create scenes on a full card front. The “canvas” almost seems too big and is intimidating to my mind’s eye. I have found that I can create scenes if I limit the canvas size, and my favorite way to do this is to create a die cut frame. I began by masking the edge of a white panel, then stamping the mountains from the main kit on the horizon, then lightly blending a sky above. I masked the bottom of the mountains with some Post-It notes and blended some blue water towards the bottom of the framed in area.

After the stamping and blending was finished, I removed the masks to reveal a rectangular scene. I used that scene to create a white die cut frame with the Infinity Rectangle dies. I also die cut a line of trees using one of the fancy dies included in the main kit, cut from some dark green card stock, as well as stamping the little boat with it’s captain and first mate. 😉 I also stamped a greeting from the main kit on a rectangle of white card stock.

After I’d die cut and stamped all of the pieces, I adhered them to the blended and stamped card base using foam tape to create lots of dimension! Perfect for that outdoorsy guy in your life, right?

For my second card today, I wanted to put to use my favorite of the add-ons: Camper Fancy Die. There are some really fun add-on stamps and dies that coordinate beautifully with the main kit, but as soon as I saw the Camper Fancy Die, I wanted to pair it with the Paper Layering Desert Cactus and Paper Layering Prickly Cactus. I used the new Meadow card stock for both cacti, die cutting them both and doing a bit of blending around the edges for dimension using Moss ink and some blending brushes.

Next, I die cut the new Camper Fancy Die from some plain white card stock, ink blending some pale gray ink around the edges and adding details with Copic markers. (I have no idea if campers have red doors like that, but if they don’t they really should! Such a fun detail!)

I trimmed down a panel of the new Lapis card stock and blended some Stone Wash ink around the edges. I layered the die cuts using foam tape and added a greeting from the main kit heat embossed in white on a rectangle of Pitch Black card stock.
Well, that’s all for my projects today! Now, for some fun giveaway information!

I like your idea about limiting the canvas size. I always love these kinds of cards but rarely think of making them. Can’t wait to get my kit.
Beautiful cards!! The scene is perfect!! The camper is awesome!
Love the card, especially the way you have created dimensions into it!
The frame is such a great look. My brother is a huge fisherman. This kit will work so well with him in mind. Thanks for sharing this.
Such fun cards. Looks like a wonderful kit.
The trailer is just adorable. And the fishing scene makes me REALLY want to go camping. Even more than before.
So touched by the “first mate” card, beautifully tranquil; really want this set! Thank you for the opportunity! That second card, tee hee. Whoa…monster cacti really made me laugh, very cute!♡♡
Both are awesome cards, but the camper card is just amazing! Love it!!!
Love how it appears as if you are looking through a window
Love what you did with these cards! The framing on the first is genius but I’m swooning over the colours on the camper card!
Both cards are just beautiful!
It looks just like the sun is raising, great scene
Wow, I love both of these cards! The first one looks like it should hang on the wall and the second one shows off the amazing camper so well.
Love both of your cards! I really like the framing on the first one… and what a great masculine card. And that camper is so cute! I want that die!
Such fun cards!!! Thanks for inspiring!

Love the cards, awesome set for the males in your life
My kind of camping – a camper – not a tent – heheh – lovely cards TFS
Beautiful cards, thank you for sharing.
Such a fun kit! Thanks for the great inspiration ❣️ Can’t wait to get mine to play too💞
God bless!
Great idea to cut the canvas area.
Like the idea of creating a frame to help with a scene card and enjoyed the camper card.
Wow, these are both so fabulous!
Love your cards! I, too, like to make my scenes smaller than the size of the card. I think it really sets them off to have some white space around them. Love the cacti in the second card!
Your second card made me smile. I grew up in the desert in California, and you captured the clear blue skies and cacti perfectly!
I’m loving the paper layering dies lately and the cactus is a perfect addition to your card.
Such wonderful cards! Great scenes.
Thanks for sharing…
Great cards. Really like being reminded to use other sets with new ones.
Very fun cards made with this awesome kit–I just had to order one.
Emily, I feel exactly the same way about trying to make a scene on the front of a card. My hubby always asks where the border is. It can be intimidating so I appreciate your tip a lot. Your cards are wonderful!
Awesome cards, I especially love the camper scene!
Fantastic cards! I love your designs, especially the first with the framing!
I love the kit and your framed scene card!
Love fishing and we have a camper, so these cards speak to me and say SUMMER!
Emily, both scenes are beautiful and fun! Love your framed scene and all the white space on card #1, but your camping scene is loaded with color popping off the card. Crossing my fingers I win this kit!
Love the cards especially the camper with the giant cactus. So sweet.
Fun cards. I like the way you framed the scene for the first card. It’s a great masculine card. The use of the cacti with the trailer for your second card is just perfect. Thanks for sharing.
That camper is adorable.
Both cards are fabulous, but I LOVE the camper!
Your cards are wonderful! I just love how you framed the scene on the first card, and that camper is adorable. The red door is perfect. 🙂
I’m inspired by how you framed up the fisherman image. Love it.
Thanks
super cute cards
Love the clean lines and the scene you built on the first card! The red door on the second card is a fantastic touch! I agree, if they don’t have red doors, they should!
Your cards are awesome! I love how you framed up the lake scene and placed the black silhouette on the outside- lovely! And, the camper card is so cute- love the colors!
Stunning top card, I love the way you have masked off a boarder to make a smaller working space. To me this is a genius idea, one i would never of thought of, so Thankyou for the inspiration xx.
Your second card using the add on’s is great too. TFS xx
I love how you framed the card, the generous use of white space makes it look elegant.
Great sentiments for both of these scenes.
I love the lake scene with a retro postcard vibe
Love your use of white space in the 1st card by framing the scenery. And the camper card is just so much fun! Thanks.
I really like how these cards turned out. 🙂
Beautiful cards! I love the camper.
Wonderful card! Can’t wait to get my kit!
