Good morning! I am super excited today to be taking part in Altenew’s Metallic Watercolor Pan Set Release Blog Hop! You should have arrived from Lilith Eeckels, and your next stop is Kymona Tracey. Altenew has so many fantastic coloring mediums available, which are perfect for use with their incredible floral sets. Today, they’re releasing some beautiful Metallic Pan Watercolors, and I’ve created two projects for the hop today. Let’s get started with the details!

For my first project, I used the Metallic Watercolors to do some simple watercoloring with the Book Club stamp set. I heat embossed the main image from Book Club using silver embossing powder on some hot press watercolor paper. I then watercolored the image in soft, romantic shades of pink, peach, and mauve using the new Metallic Watercolors. These watercolors move beautifully on watercolor paper, and leave a lovely metallic sheen (that’s super difficult to photograph, unfortunately)!

After I’d finished watercoloring, I trimmed the edges of the watercolored panel and mounted it on an A2 panel of glossy silver cardstock. I also die cut a silver foil greeting using the Thinking of You die, which I mounted on the card front using foam adhesive. I also added a few metallic jewels to add even more sparkle and shine!

For my second project, I wanted to showcase the unique opacity of these metallic pan watercolors by using them on a black background! To create a black surface for watercoloring, I use Daniel Smith Black Watercolor Grounds. Once the grounds had dried completely, I heat embossed the Beautiful Blossoms stamp set on the black background using silver embossing powder. I then used the beautiful Metallic Watercolors to watercolor the images, adding a second coat over the top once the first had dried to intensify the color.

For the greeting, I used Mega Greetings 3 to die cut a deep raspberry colored die cut and stamp some labels. I adhered them to the card front using foam adhesive, then added some silver gems for some sparkle!
Well, that’s all for me today! Now, Altenew has some very generous giveaways to help celebrate the release of their new Metallic Watercolors!
To celebrate this release, Altenew is giving away a $30 gift certificate to 6 lucky winners! Please leave a comment on the Altenew Card Blog and/or Altenew Scrapbook Blog by 11/2/2019 for a chance to win.
We’ll also draw a winner to receive a $15 gift certificate from the comments left on each designer’s blog on the blog hop list below. All winners will be announced on the Altenew blogs on 11/4/2019.
