Hi there! Today, the Ellen Hutson Design Ambassadors (and a few friends) are blog hopping to share some inspiration (and prizes!) using the newest Essentials By Ellen release, which is NOW AVAILABLE! You should have arrived here from Lisa Spangler’s blog, and your next stop is Jessica Frost-Ballas. You can also start back at the beginning if you get lost! I have two projects to share with you today using goodies from the latest release, so let’s get started with the details!

For my first project, I paired the darling new Lil’ Squatch stamps and dies with the older Landscapes dies to create a sweet little forest scene. I began by stamping several of the images (including that sweet little sasquatch with his absolutely precious facial expression) on some Copic-friendly white paper using Intens-ified Black Ink from Hero Arts. I then used my Copic markers to color the images.

After die cutting the colored images, I used the Landscapes dies to die cut some mountains from Pebble cardstock and a grassy floor from some Palm cardstock. I also trimmed a panel of Periwinkle cardstock down to A2 size and blended some bright blue ink at the top using blender brushes to help create that crisp, clear summer sky that you might see in the Pacific Northwest!

I adhered all of the die cut elements on the blue panel using a combination of liquid and foam adhesive for lots of dimension. The final touch was to add the greeting from Lil’ Squatch on a rectangle of white cardstock.

For my second project, I used the Sew Cute-Ornament dies to create a fun shaker card! I am not much when it comes to sewing; I own a sewing box with some basic threads and needles, and that is approximately the extent of my knowledge haha. But I wanted to show you that you can do more with your Sew Cute dies than just create darling felt ornaments!

I began by die cutting the large ornament image from Sew Cute-Ornament dies from some Cherry cardstock, which creates a giant window for the shaker panel. I then backed it with some acetate and set to work on the card base!

I stamped a white A2 card base using the Woven Plaid background stamp from Concord and 9th using some light gray ink. I stamped a greeting in the center of the plaid panel using Retro Holiday Greetings using black ink. I filled the shaker with some red, white, and sparkling clear sequins and added a gray and white twine bow!
Well, that’s all for today’s projects! Now, we have some fun giveaway information!

Your blending on the Sasquatch card is so good. I still have trouble blending like that! That is such a great color palette you used, love it. I also like your use of the stitched die in an out of the box way, so good!

Your cards are so cute. I am loving the Sasquatch set. Too cute.
Living in the Pacific Northwest in Canada I know just what you mean about the blue summer skies Emily. I really like the fact that the trees come in a group of three so it makes it easier to create a forest setting. And thank you for a great alternative to use the sewing die cuts with. I could do it, but not sure I’d enjoy it. Me & sewing don’t get along… lol
Great idea to create this shaker card!!
Love the elderly gentleman
resting amidst the trees.

shaker is wonderful. thanks
