Hi there! Happy Monday! So excited to be part of the July 2020 Hero Arts My Monthly Hero Blog Hop. You should have arrived here from Debi Adams, and your next stop is Ilina Crouse. This month’s kit and add-ons are an homage to the ocean, including some gorgeous new underwater stamping scenes, beautiful ink cubes, and some amazing sparkling sticker paper.
The kit includes a large, 6×8 stamp set, coordinating frame cuts, fancy edge die, embossing powder, ink cube quintet, and sparkling sticker paper. It’s valued at $76.50, but can be yours for $34.99. These kits frequently sell out ASAP, so don’t hesitate, because it might not be available when you finally make up your mind… once they’re gone, they’re gone! You can also subscribe and have a kit guaranteed for you each month. Pre-order your kit today – we estimate kit shipping will begin Friday, July 17th and continues throughout the following week.
This month, I’m just focusing on one of the super cute add-on stamps sets: Sea You Soon and the coordinating Frame Cuts.
My goal with this card was to create a nautical, Cape Cod-style aesthetic using corals, white, and navy. I began by heat embossing the oldie-but-goodie Fishing Net Bold Prints background stamp in white on some Nautical Hero Hues cardstock.
Next, I heat embossed several of the shells from Sea You Soon onto watercolor paper using white embossing powder, then used Karin markers to watercolor the images in a variety of corals and yellows. I die cut them with the coordinating Frame Cuts.
For the greeting, I heat embossed a sentiment from Sea You Soon onto a strip of white cardstock, then used blending brushes to blend Pale Tomato, Fresh Peach, and Butterbar inks in a diagonal ombre to coordinate with the colors of the watercolored seashells. I adhered the die cuts and sentiment to the fishing net card front using both liquid and foam adhesive, finally adding some Sunset and Pinks Enamel Dots from Hero Arts to help fill in any gaps in the shell arrangement.
Well, that’s all for my projects today! Now, to celebrate this latest My Monthly Hero release, We will give away one $50 gift card, drawn from the comments left across the hop. Enter by Sunday, July 19th at 11:59pm pacific, and the winner will be announced on the Hero Arts blog the following week. The more comments you leave, the more chances you have to win! Your next stop is Ilina Crouse. You can also head back to the Hero Arts blog to get the full hop list!
