Autumn Legs with Colorado Craft Company and Catherine Pooler!

Hi there! I have a special post for you today, featuring new goodies from both Colorado Craft Company and Catherine Pooler Designs for a fun blog hop! You should have arrived here from Karen Baker’s blog, and your next stop is Verity Biddlecombe. I chose to work with the newest installment of Colorado Craft Company’s Lovely Legs line-Lovely Legs Autumn, paired with some autumnal inks and a new word die from Catherine Pooler Designs. Let’s get started with the details!

I began by stamping the Lovely Legs Seasons-Autumn stamp on a panel of white cardstock using Copic-friendly black ink. I then used my Copic markers in a variety of yellows, oranges, and reds (with some touches of gray) to create a coloreful autumn scene. I don’t care for brown, or warm colors really, so I kept the reds on the cool end of the spectrum by using selections from the RV Copic section the added touch of gray helps to cool down the scene to make it prettier to my eye!

After I’d finished coloring, I trimmed the panel down a touch on all sides so that I could mat it on an A2 panel of black cardstock. I also die cut the Just Thanks die from Catherine Pooler three times from black cardstock, adhering them together with liquid adhesive from Bearly Arts (that fine tip is perfect for making sure that I got just enough glue on the die cuts with no spillage!) to create a dimensional die cut. I also covered it in some crystal clear Lacquer Pen from Hero Arts to help it shine and add a bit of texture.

To add a bit of interest to the area above the stamped and colored Lovely Legs image, I used blender brushes along with Mandarin Spice and Peppermint Scrub inks from Catherine Pooler Designs. I blended the Mandarin Spice first, then added just a touch of Peppermint Scrub around the very edges to create multiple layers of color and coordinate with the colors of my autumnal bouquet. I adhered the colored, blended panel to the black mat, finally adhering the glossy black dimensional die cut.

Well, that’s all for my project today! Now, to add to the fun, Colorado Craft Company and Catherine Pooler Designs are each giving away a $30 gift certificate. The winners will be chosen from across the hop, so the more comments you leave, the more chances you have to win! Winners will be announced on September 1, 2020. Your next stop on the hop is Verity Biddlecombe.

I really like the way you chose to keep the colouring simpler in the background. I adore this stamp set yet I feel I wouldn’t do it justice having to colour & shade all of the detail. The reds with the cool greys are perfect together. Always loved red rubber rain boots too.
