Hi there! Today, Altenew and the fabulous Kathy Racoosin are teaming up to bring you the Watercolor Therapy Blog Hop! You should have arrived here from Amber Rain Davis and your next stop is Erum Tasneem. If follow Kathy’s Instagram feed, you’ll know that we are in the midst of the 18th (!!!) The Daily Marker coloring challenge! Kathy’s fantastic challenges encourage you to relax a few minutes each day with the coloring medium of your choice. Today’s hop encourages just that: a little therapy with your coloring implements and some Altenew stamps.

With the big kids learning from home and the little ones being… babies, ha… I find myself yearning for some quiet time at my desk while also having the possibility of that time at my desk curtailed most days by how well school goes and how long naptimes last, how much laundry there is to fold and how many dishes there are in the sink. Some days I can only manage to color a bloom or two, like I’ve done with the project in these photos. I stamped the beautiful swag from Courageous You onto some Altenew watercolor paper using Obsidian ink, then used the new Woodless Watercolor Pencils and a damp paintbrush to quickly add color to the image.

My watercoloring philosophy is all about layering to get lots of depth of color. I began with a base layer of Rubellite Woodless Watercolor Pencil, then added some Ultramarine to create even more depth, mixing to create a pretty shade of violet.
Altenew and Kathy from The Daily Marker are giving away over $350 prizes to 17 lucky winners.

WOW WOW WOW! Just stunning! The pinks and purples are just incredible!
Wow these are beautiful! You certainly have your hands full and the hours of the day filled up, so glad you find a little time here and there to color!
Gorgeous card! The flowers are colored beautifully and Really love how you left the leaves uncolored, that’s my kind of coloring!!
Beautiful purply-pink blooms, love the depth of colors!
Stunning flowers!!
I love the pink and purple!!
Absolutely Gorgeous!!!!
I love the control you have with the color pencils. Lovely flowers and hang in there… I feel badly for folks who now have to be teachers also. Times are so uncertain!
Beautiful card and the colors just pop! I love watercolor pencils so guess these are on the want list. Thanks for sharing.
Such a beautiful card! Love the colors you used..
Thanks so much for sharing.
Beautiful colors! I like the look of just the flowers colored and black and white leaves.
Love the pink and purple.
This is beautiful. The colors are stunning with the black leaf outlines!
Love the use of pink and purple. Very pretty.
The uncolored leaves are a good idea. I like the simplicity of it…
Beautiful! this card is great and I love the color combination you used. I really like the leaves being left without color – I would have colored them but now I will try leaving them uncolored for a change. The flowers stand out better because of this. Thanks for sharing this. 🙂
Terrific colors! Magnificent! I really like the leaves as they are, not colored. The focus is on the flowers.
Beautiful coloring. Glad you were able to find some time to do this.
I love the vibrancy & depth of colour you’ve been able to achieve using these no wood watercolour pencils. Makes me want to start saving my nickels, (no more pennies in Canada lol), to be able to purchase them. I also like the clean look of just the leaves outlined in black. It’s quite a contrast between the two which is so cool.
Those pencils must be fantastic. Your coloring certainly is!
Beautiful card. Love the new watercolor pencils. Thanks for sharing
Love your colour choices Emily! Thank you for the inspiration.
Keep well.

Such a beautiful card. I love water colored flowers, they are so pretty. Definitely a cool idea to leave the leaves black and white.
Emily, the colors in these flowers are stunning. I can’t believe the vibrancy of the colors from the watercolor pencils. Thanks for sharing your design
The purple/pink colors are awesome.
So pretty … can’t wait to see the finished card.
So lovely, those colors are fabulous!
So pretty! I’m so glad that you were able to carve out a few moments for yourself, to play! I know you’re enjoying having your children home more, but Mommies need a break, too!
I know those pencils have to be fun to play with! …maybe one day! 😉😃
Beautiful cards and I love your color choice. Thank you.

Beautiful choice of colors.
I love that even though you are so busy and a card wasn’t achievable, that you still found some time to play! Your flowers are so pretty and I especially love the purple one!
Wow wow wow… just amazing Emily. I just love these colours and you have given me some colour ideas – Rubelite is one of my fav colours 🙂 Thanks for sharing.

Your design and colour combo are both beautiful.
I love the color combo you chose!
There’s something very elegant about coloring part of the image….
Pink and lavender were our wedding colors, so partial as can be to this. Very pretty and the watercoloring is so soft.
How simple and absolutely beautiful!
