Altenew Craft A Flower Cosmos Blog Hop + Giveaway!

Hi there! Today, Altenew is releasing their latest Craft-A-Flower die set: Craft A Flower: Cosmos! These floral layering dies are so very fun to play with, because you can use all different manner of techniques to create the colorful layers… colored cardstock, markers, ink blending… whatever you have on hand to create a set of three gradient cardstock! You should have arrived here from Amanda Baldwin and your next stop is Christine Pennington. (You can also check out the Altenew Card Blog to get the full hop list…. and an extra card that I made!) I have a card and tag project for you today, so let’s get started with the details!

When creating with these beautiful layering dies, I tend to do a bunch of die cutting and a bunch of assembling, many times leaving me with an abundance of blooms sufficient to create multiple projects. I created several blooms by blending the Enchanted Garden ink quartet on white cardstock, then die cutting the individual layers from each individual color. I thought I’d allow these pretty purple Craft A Flower: Cosmos pop on a lightly textured white background.

This first project is a “mini slimline” size, (3.5″x6″) which is relatively new but I find to be a lovely size for florals… just long enough to have some florals climbing up your card front without having too much space to fill! I trimmed my white card base down, then used Hydrangea ink with the Woven Stencil to blend some light texture on my background.

I arranged my floral die cuts to be climbing up my card front and adhered them with a combination of liquid and dimensional adhesive for lots of texture.

I added a sentiment from Sentiment Strips on a strip of white cardstock using the same Hydrangea ink, then added a few gems for some sparkle!

I used the same supplies to create a pretty tag, as well, this time using the Terrific Tags die set for my base. I die cut the tag base, stenciled lightly, then added my leftover Cosmos die cuts using dimensional adhesive. Finally, I added some white raffia to create the loop.

Well, that’s all for my project today! As always, Altenew is having generous giveaways to celebrate their Craft A Flower: Cosmos release:

$200 in total prizes! To celebrate this release, Altenew is giving away a $50 gift certificate to 1 lucky winner and a $15 gift certificate to 10 winners! Please leave a comment on the Altenew Card Blog and/or each designer’s blog post on the blog hop list below by 02/12/2021 for a chance to win. Altenew will draw 11 random winners from the comments left on each stop of this blog hop and announce the winners on the Altenew Winners Page on 02/15/2021.

Your next stop is Christine Pennington. Thanks so much for stopping by, and happy hopping!

I follow you on several venues for several companies and love your work. The use of the slimline and the geometric stencil to ad interest was spot on for adding interest to the overall feel of the card. I like the idea of using our Altenew inks to create the color gradients we need and am going to try that first thing in the morning. Thank you.
