Hi there! Today, I’m taking part in the Spellbinders February Clubs Blog Hop, chock full of inspiration using the plethora of goodies from this month’s Spellbinders Club Kits! You should have arrived here from Mindy, and your next stop is Virginia. I have a monochromatic ombre card for you today using the February Stamp Club set, so let’s get started with the details!

I wanted to create some custom, graphic patterned paper using the unique images in the February Stamp Club, so I used my T-square and a pencil to draw some light lines 1.5″ apart on my white card front. I then used a regular old stamping block and three different shades of aqua ink (Spring Rain, Scuba, and High Dive, all from Simon Says Stamp) to stamp the pattern, starting in the center of the card front with the Spring Rain (the lightest shade) and working my way out.

Once I had finished stamping the background, I die cut a white ticket shape using the Booklet Binding dies, as well as a larger dark teal to mat the ticket shape. I stamped the greeting (from the February Stamp Club set) on the white die cut using the darkest teal ink, then adhered the two die cuts using liquid adhesive.

I trimmed the patterned background panel down slightly and matted it on an A2 panel of the same dark teal cardstock used to mat the sentiment so that there was just the slightest edge of dark teal to help frame the busy background pattern. I adhered the sentiment die cuts to the card front using foam adhesive for lots of dimension, then added a few gems to help add some sparkle!
To celebrate this release, we are giving away a $50 gift certificate to 3 lucky blog readers – selected from the comments on our blog. Giveaway closes on Sunday, February 14th, 11:59 pm MST.
