Altenew Storybook Fantasy Stamps/Dies/Stencils/Embossing Folders Collection Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Good morning! The latest Altenew Stamps+Dies release is here, and it’s absolutely stunning! The Storybook Fantasy release has a huge array of products, from bookmark dies, to gorgeous new floral stamps and backgrounds, to embossing folders, to beautiful layering stencils! We are, of course, celebrating with a blog hop; you should have arrived here from Amanda Baldwin, and your next stop is LauraJane. (You can also start back at the beginning at the Altenew Card Blog.)

I have three projects for you today using the new products. In looking at my previous projects, I thought to myself that I use quite a bit of pink, purple, and coral, as those are floral colors typically found in nature, but not very much in the way of blue. My projects today are an homage to a pretty, forget-me-not blue. Let’s get started with all of the details!

My first project features the new Tall Tale Bookmark die, which I paired with the new Hill Blossoms Layering Stencils. This new die is quite substantial, and features a great little notch at the top into which you can slip a page of your book! I die cut the Tall Tale Bookmark Die from some plain white cardstock (I used 110 lb Neenah to add extra heft to the bookmark and hopefully allow it to last for awhile).

To decorate the plain white bookmark, I used the new Hill Blossoms Layering Stencils paired with Northern Shores and Nature’s Wonders inks to create this pretty, delicate pattern over the entirety of the bookmark. Finally, I added a fluffy blue bow and loop made from some seam binding. (left over from the days when everybody added ribbon to cards, haha!)

My second card features the beautifully detailed new Ranunculus Bouquet 3D Embossing Folder. I absolutely love the subtle, exceptionally elegant look that these new embossing folders create. They are great for making quick cards that are incredibly elegant. I ran the Ranunculus Bouquet 3D Embossing Folder through my die cutting machine using a piece of very pale blue cardstock, orienting the bouquet so that it was flowing off the side of the cardstock panel.

Next, I die cut the Fancy Celebrate die three times from some shimmery whit cardstock and adhered them all together using liquid adhesive in order to create a dimensional sentiment die cut. I adhered this right over the top of the embossed floral bouquet using plenty of liquid adhesive to make sure that it was stuck down good and tight. A few blue gems added some sparkle!

My first two projects were relatively simple, technically speaking, but still with that element of elegance that I love so much, but for my final card, I wanted to really create something special for my husband. He loves blue; (our wedding colors were this same shade of beautiful forget-me-not blue and white) so when I saw the amazing sentiments included in the Whimsical Herringbone set, I knew I had to make an extra-mushy card for my husband.

I started by stamping the main floral image from Fairy Tale Florals using very pale fadeout ink, then used my Copic markers (B28, FB2, B12) to do some no-line coloring on the blooms. I added the details of the stamens and center of the flowers using the Fine Liner Pens.

Next, I stamped the Whimsical Herringbone background using the lightest blue from the Northern Shores ink set. I trimmed the patterned panel down slightly and mounted it on another panel of super pale blue cardstock, allowing just the edge on two sides to peek out from behind the patterned panel. I stamped one of the beautiful greetings from Whimsical Herringbone using Obsidian ink, then trimmed them into strips using my trimmer. I adhered the die cut floral cluster using foam adhesive, then added my sentiment strips with some more foam adhesive. Finally, I added a few more iridescent blue gems for some sparkle. (He’s a guy, so I know he doesn’t care about the sparkle, but I sure do, haha!)

Well, that’s all for my projects today! Now, as always, Altenew has some fun giveaway information for you to celebrate the Storybook Fantasy Release!
