Altenew Seasonal Textures Stand-alone Embossing Folder Collection Release Blog Hop + Giveaway ($300 in total prizes)

Hi there! We are hopping to share Altenew’s latest Standalone Embossing Folder release: Seasonal Textures! You should have arrived here from Amanda Baldwin, and your next stop is Nathalie DeSousa. You can also start back at the beginning at the Altenew Card Blog. This release features so many beautiful new 3D embossing folders, including the one I’ve used for today’s project: Frilly Peonies. Let’s get started with the detailts!

I love the effect of watercoloring on the super detailed, textured embossed backgrounds, so I began my project by embossing the new Frilly Peonies folder on some of Altenew’s Watercolor Paper. This lightly textured paper looks beautiful when embossed alone, almost like super fancy letterpress! The huge embossed image covers the majority of the A2 card front.

Next, I used the Winter Wonderland Brush Markers to add some watercolor to each of the petals. I treated this as I would no-line coloring, working in different sections until the watercolored petals had dried, then going back and working on the petals next to the newly-dry petals. Once the watercolored image had dried completely, I used the Metallic Watercolors to add some gold to the stamens, as well as add some shiny, shimmery gold splatters to the card front to make it extra artsy!

Once my watercoloring had been completed, I used the You Matter dies to die cut a stark black greeting. I love the contrast of the pretty, feminine watercolored floral background with the bold black sentiment. The final touch was to add a few iridescent black gems to add even more texture and shine.

Well, that’s all for my project today! Now for some fun giveaway information!

$300 in total prizes! To celebrate this release, Altenew is giving away a $50 gift certificate to 2 lucky winners and a $25 gift certificate to 8 winners! Please leave a comment on the Altenew Card Blog and/or each designer’s blog post on the blog hop list below by 09/23/2021 for a chance to win. Altenew will draw 10 random winners from the comments left on each stop of this blog hop and announce the winners on the Altenew Winners Page on 09/25/2021.

Your next stop on the hop is Nathalie DeSousa. Thanks so much for reading, and happy hopping!

Your card is gorgeous, and I agree, it is great water coloring on embossing folders. I have been so inspired by you and others, and my favorite cards are the water colored E.F. cards.

Had to look twice…the embossed area with the watercolor on top, actually gives the appearance of hand torn flowers. Truely gorgeous!
