Altenew Build-A-Flower: Laelia Release Blog Hop + Giveaway ($200 in total prizes)

Hi there! It’s (somehow) October 1, so that means that Altenew has a new Build A Flower set: Build A Flower: Laelia! We are celebrating with a blog hop; you should have arrived here from Daniel Diaz, and your next stop is LauraJane. There is something so classy about pink and gold, but I thought I’d shift that classic combo just a bit to a more muted mauve and brassy metallic to create this subtle, elegant project with the new Build A Flower: Laelia. Here’s a peek at the new set:

This month’s set features a beautiful Laelia flower, along with several different options for foliage-both layered and solid! I love that Altenew gives you the option to use the layered stamps or take some time to do some coloring. You can always subscribe to the Build A Flower series to receive the sets each month at a discounted rate!

My project today features both the outline flower stamp (to do some watercoloring) as well as some of the solid foliage stamps, so let’s get started with the details!

I began by heat embossing the beautiful main floral image from Build A Flower: Laelia using some brass embossing powder onto  Watercolor Paper, then used the  Altenew Artists’ 24 Pan Watercolor set to add some muted mauve and hunter green color to the image. I die cut the finished painted image with the coordinating die. I also heat embossed a few of the solid sprigs of foliage, again using the brass embossing powder. I love the pop of metallic shine that these solid stamped images add to the watercolored flower!

Next, I die cut the Creative Edges: Lace die from some creamy white cardstock. I like to make sure that the white cardstocks match. Watercolor paper tends to have a bit of a warm undertone to it, so I try to make sure that any other die cuts match it. I also die cut a Fancy Thanks die from some deep brassy metallic cardstock that I had in my stash. It matches the brass embossing powder on the die cuts perfectly!

Finally, I layered all of the die cuts on a coordinating mauve card front using a mixture of liquid and foam adhesive for lots of dimension. I added a few metallic gold gemstones to add one more touch of shine to the card front.

Well, that’s all for my project today! As always, Altenew has some fabulous giveaways to celebrate this latest Build A Flower installment!

$200 in total prizes! To celebrate this release, Altenew is giving away a $50 gift certificate to 2 lucky winners and a $20 gift certificate to 5 winners! Please leave a comment on the Altenew Card Blog and/or each designer’s blog post on the blog hop list below by 10/07/2021for a chance to win. Altenew will draw 7 random winners from the comments left on each stop of this blog hop and announce the winners on the Altenew Winners Page on 10/09/2021.

Your next stop is LauraJane, or you can start back at the beginning at the Altenew Card Blog. Thanks so much for stopping by today, and happy hopping!
