Hi there! Today, Altenew is adding Queen of the Lilies to the Build A Flower family, and we are celebrating with a blog hop! You should have arrived here from Colleen Balija, and your next stop is Danielle Dunlop. You can also start back at the beginning at the Altenew Card Blog if you get lost! This month’s Build A Flower is absolutely stunning… and the flowers are enormous. So much fun to play with! Here’s a peek at Build A Flower: Queen of the Lilies:

I love that Altenew gives you the option to use the layered stamps or take some time to do some coloring. You can always subscribe to the Build A Flower series to receive the sets each month at a discounted rate!

For my project today, I used the layered stamps to create these vibrant peachy lilies. I stamped them using the Red Sunset ink quartet for the interior, Obsidian for the outline stamp. I love how massive these flowers are; they would look gorgeous stamped in such a huge variety of colors! I also stamped some bright green leaves using the Tropical Forest inks. I die cut all of the stamped images using the coordinating dies, included in each Build A Flower package.

Because the flowers are so large, I thought using a slimline card size would best fit their proportions, so I trimmed down a 3.5″x8.5″ white card front and masked off a frame on the bottom portion using washi tape. I lightly blended Blush and Rouge inks from the Red Sunset ink quartet, tapering off towards the middle. Removing masking or washi tape is so magical. I love seeing that crisp white edge juxtaposed with the soft, but vibrant blending!

I arranged all of the die cuts on the blended card base and adhered them using some Instant Dimension foam tape. I added a black sentiment on a rectangle of white cardstock, again stamped with Obsidian ink, and adhered that with some foam tape, as well. The final touch was to add some iridescent, deep orange pearls to add some shine and fill in some bare spots on the the floral swag.
Well, that’s all for my project today!
$200 in total prizes! To celebrate this release, Altenew is giving away a $50 gift certificate to 2 lucky winners and a $20 gift certificate to 5 winners! Please leave a comment on the Altenew Card Blog and/or each designer’s blog post on the blog hop list below by 12/07/2021 for a chance to win. Altenew will draw 7 random winners from the comments left on each stop of this blog hop and announce the winners on the Altenew Winners Page on 12/09/2021.
