This new Cheering For You release features so many fun new items, with lots of different themes, from summer to autumn and Halloween, and even new ink cubes! I have a pair of pretty floral projects to share with you, so let’s get started with the details!
For both of my projects, I used the beautiful new Blue Lagoons Cubes as my inspiration for the color palette. The muted teals and greens in this color cube set were perfect for creating a pair of lovely and soft cards!
For my first card, I die cut the lovely blooms from the new Cosmos Duo die three times and once using the Grand Corner Leaves die sets from some Hammermill white cardstock so that I could do some soft ink blending. I used blending brushes to lightly blend the softer shades in the Blue Lagoons Cubes on the flowers and foliage. To add extra texture and sparkle to the background, I die cut a frame using the Nested Domed Arches Frames and some Turquoise Lake glitter cardstock, adhering it to a white A2 card front with some liquid adhesive. I arranged the blended flowers, adhering them with a mixture of thick foam adhesive and the new thin foam adhesive squares. I always like to mix the heights, working with liquid adhesive, single layers of adhesive, and double layers to create lots of dimension on my card fronts. I added a greeting from Graceful Flowers, stamped in a deep teal and covered with Iridescent Blue embossing powder to add a bit more shimmer. Finally, I added some Surf Pawsitively Dazzling Gems for added sparkle!
For my second card, I used a leftover Cosmos Due die and some additional greenery to start my card. The large sentiment from the new You stamp set makes it perfect for a focal point. I die cut the detail layer of the You die set from some white glitter cardstock and the shadow layer from vellum. I stamped a coordinating greeting from the You stamp set (or you can purchase as a bundle HERE) using Mist ink from the Blue Lagoons Cubes and sprinkled with Iridescent Blue embossing powder to create a coordinating shimmery teal sentiment.
For the background, I die cut the new Pinpoint Circle Background from some white cardstock. This new background die creates a beautiful, subtly textured pattern. (If you’re a stitcher, this would be a great one to use with embroidery floss!) I arranged the greeting pieces with the floral die cuts in the center of the textured background, adhering them with foam adhesive. I tucked a delicate bow amongst the floral arrangement, then added a few Surf Pawsitively Dazzling Gems to add one last element of teal to the card front!
