Hi friends! I am back with some more inspiration using the new Limited Edition Stained Glass Holiday Card Kit (available NOW for preorder to be shipped later in October or early November!), this time using the beautiful standalone Arched Christmas Star die that is included in the kit. I love detailed, generously-sized standalone dies like this; they offer so many opportunities for different techniques: inlaid die cutting, paper piecing, or to create a shaker window like I’ve done here. I love figuring out how to make clean-and-simple cards that still have some extra special details, making the mass production process a little more interesting. Let’s get started with the details on my card!

To start, I trimmed down a panel of white cardstock to 3.5″ x 5″. I used a T-square ruler (which is on sale at the moment for an amazing price!!) to place the Arched Christmas Star die in the center of the panel. I used some light-tack tape to hold it in place while I ran it through my die cutting machine. I reserved the die cut itself for a future project and kept the negative frame for my current project, then die cut a second Arched Christmas Star die from some of the Champagne Matte Foil cardstock included in the Stained Glass Christmas kit.
After die cutting the components for my shaker card, I backed the negative window with some clear acetate, adding a line of foam adhesive strips around the opening to create the space for my shaker bits. I placed some Champagne Sequins in the center of a full sized A2 card front, then centered my window over the top of the card front, making sure to seal the edges of the window completely to keep my sequins inside of my shaker! The foam adhesive is just high enough that the sequins shake and float beautifully behind the window.
After I had completed the shaker portion of the card, I adhered the matte foil Arched Christmas Star die cut that I had cut from Champagne foil cardstock, nestling it inside the open window with some liquid adhesive. I also used a scrap of champagne glitter cardstock to die cut another star for the center of the window, tucking it in the negative space of the star with some more liquid adhesive. To embellish the star and make it pop a bit, I added one of the beautiful Opal Pawsitively Dazzling Gems that were just released. I heat embossed a sentiment from the Stained Glass Christmas stamp set (included with the Kit) using some Platinum Glitter embossing powder and die cut it with the coordinating die. I popped up the sentiment using some thin foam adhesive squares, adding just a touch of height to help the sentiment stand out on the crisp white card front. I think the simplicity of the card layout is made so special with the shimmery metallic touches throughout each layer of the card!
