Altenew November 2024 Release Blog Hop + Giveaway!

Hi friends! I am hopping along with Altenew this morning to help introduce their beautiful new products for the November 2024 release! I adore the peachy pink tones in the new Cottage Garden Marker set, so I immediately put them to use using the beautiful new Botanical Elegance Marker Sheets. Let’s get started on the details of my project!

The gorgeous images on the Botanical Elegance Marker Sheets are a luxuriously large scale, making them perfect for really special cards, like this A7 project that I’ve created today! I started by coloring the gorgeous, large blooms using those peachy-pink markers from the Cottage Garden markers set, blending the colors to make the images beautifully saturated and vibrant. I love large scale images, because they allow you the opportunity to really dig down into the coloring and show lots of dimension and contrast!

After I had finished coloring the images, I used blending brushes to blend Strawberry and Peachy Glow Fresh Dye Inks around the edges of the card front, creating a soft, warm glow around the flowers, almost like a sunset or sunrise! I also used a black pen to add some faux splatters; using the pen rather than watercolor allows me to get a bit more control over where those splatters end up.

After I had finished coloring and “splattering” my card front, I trimmed it down slightly and mounted it on a sheet of A7 Jet Black cardstock, leaving a crisp black mat around the edges. For the greeting, I used the new Scripty Sentiments dies with some more black cardstock and some coordinating warm peach glittter cardstock to create this happy sentiment, which I popped up on the card front using foam adhesive. Finally, I added some extra texture with a twine bow and some Red Jasper Gems for a touch of sparkle!
