Simon Says Stamp Favorite Things Release Blog Hop- Day 2!

die set, as it reminds me of the Peter Rabbit story that I read to my children. I paired it with some older embossing folders and dies to create this sweet little springtime scene. Let’s get started with the details on my project!

To begin, I die cut each of the pieces from the new Bundled Bunny from white cardstock, then used my OLO Markers to add detailed color to the bunny, making him a deep chocolate brown and adding some pale blush pink to his ears and white gel pen to add shine on his eyes! I think he looks just like Peter Rabbit! This die set comes with a sweet little scarf to keep bunny warm, and I can’t wait to add him to a wintry snow scene for a holiday card.

To create the garden in which Peter is hiding from Mr. MacGregor, I ran two separate panels of white cardstock through my die cutting machine using the older Crocus Row Embossing Folder. I used my sharp scissors to cut around the flowers, then used blending brushes to blend Ballet Rainbow Splash Ink on the flowers and Pearfection Pawsitively Saturated Ink on the foliage and grass. I used the same blush colored OLO Markers to intensify the pink tips of the crocus flowers, adding some very subtle dimension to the delicate pink blooms! I also die cut some additional foliage using the older Lady’s Mantle die from white cardstock, upon which I blended residual ink from the green foliage on the crocuses. I created a sky on a third panel of A2 white cardstock, blending Twilight Pawsitively Saturated Ink on the top 1/3 of the panel with a blending brush.

After I had created all of the different components, I used both thin and thick foam adhesive squares as well as liquid adhesive to add each component to the blended card front, building the garden scene around the sweet little Peter Rabbit die cut, creating tons of dimension and height with each additional layer! For the greeting, I die cut the new Blessed sentiment die cut from some sparkling Bubblegum Glitter Cardstock, pairing it with some sentiments from the coordinating Blessed Sentiment Strips. Finally, I added some Dusk Pawsitively Dazzling Gems for additional sparkle!

Yesterday, I was pressed for time and was grateful that most of the bloggers from day 1 didn’t do videos and so I could quickly read what they all did but today, I really wish that I could have just seen a short video of you adhering all 3 panels together. Thank you soo much for the explanation you provided. This card is soo beautifully crafted. As the young folks say now “it’s very demure”. LOL.
