Hi friends! I have a caffeinated project to share with you today, and boy do I need some caffeine for the end of the first week of school! My little boys started kindergarten, and while I have been simultaneously enjoying the alone time and productivity, I am also feeling a little aimless without anybody to whom I need to distribute snacks or bickering to break up… such is life, I guess. I have been making some cards to sell at my local coffee shop, and as I was perusing the various coffee-themed items in my stash, I came across the Coffee Beans background stamp that I knew would work perfectly with the new Best-Teas stamp set from the Simon Says Stamp August Card Kit of the Month! That particular Card Kit is sold out, but you can still purchase the stamp set that was included with the kit. Let’s get started on the details of my project.

To begin, I stamped the Coffee Beans clear background stamp using Lisa Horton Bronze Metallic ink, which adds a subtle shimmer to your stamped image depending on the angle at which you are viewing it. I trimmed this down about 2″ and made up the difference on the bottom of the A2 card front with some Glazed Chestnut Tonic cardstock, which matched the stamped coffee beans beautifully!
After I had created my background, I used Contour Ink to stamp the croissant, cookie, and various coffee-making accoutrements from Best-Teas on some plain white cardstock. I used OLO Markers to color the images no-line coloring style, then die cut them with their coordinating dies. I also stamped a greeting from the Best-Teas stamp set using the same Bronze Metallic Ink, cutting it out with it’s coordinating die.
I arranged all of the die cuts on my card front, adhering some with foam tape in single and double layers, as well as some with liquid adhesive for a few variations in height for added texture to the card front. I tucked a rustic twine bow amongst the brunch scene, finally adding some Opal Pawsitively Dazzling Gems for added sparkle.
Well, that’s all for my project today! Mixing old products with new products is so much fun for me… it definitely pays creative dividends to search your stash and refresh your memory of items that you already have but maybe haven’t seen enough love.
