Hi friends! I have a vibrant floral project to share with you today using some of my favorite colors and techniques; a “comfort coloring” project, if you will. I am always thrilled to see new floral images to color, giving me an excuse to pull out my favorite coloring mediums, so the gorgeous new Delicate Blossoms stamp set immediately went in my “to be used” pile! I pulled out some saturated pinks, corals, and greens from my OLO markers, some coordinating colored cardstock, and a new standalone floral die and got to work. Let’s get started with the details!

To start, I stamped the new Delicate Blossoms background image onto a panel of white cardstock using alcohol marker-friendly black ink. To make the coloring go a bit more quickly, I trimmed down the stamped background to a 3″ strip, allowing me the pleasure of coloring without the more significant time investment that would be required to color the entire image! I then colored the images using a gorgeous saturated magenta color palette (I wish I had written down the specific markers!) from OLO Marker and, once complete, added a coral background around the colored images. Using OLO Markers quickly allows you to add color to a background, because they are so incredibly saturated with ink!
AfterI had finished coloring the entire panel, I trimmed down some black glitter cardstock and adhered it to the long sides of the colored panel, allowing it to peek out on each side. This adds some sparkle and additional texture to the project while also enhancing the black stamped lines! I adhered the colorful panel to a A2 panel of coral cardstock, which nearly perfectly coordinates with the coral backrgound behind the flowers.
I love enhancing stamped floral backgrounds with standalone floral die cuts, so I die cut the Beautiful Branch images with some coordinating pink, maroon, and green cardstock. Before adhering the flowers and foliage die cuts, I stamped a greeting from the Delicate Blossoms stamp set (I love that this new clear background set comes with sentiments with coordinating sentiment dies!) on the same coral cardstock using black pigment ink, then added clear embossing powder. It’s amazing how the addition of the crisp clear embossing powder over the black pigment inked sentiment makes the sentiment so professional and crisp! I adhered the botanical die cuts around the sentiment, popped everything up with foam adhesive for added dimension, tucked a few green leaves in with some liquid adhesive, and finished everything off with some Rainbow Pawsitively Dazzling Gems for the flower centers.
Well, that’s all for my projects today! I love adding black accents to black stamped images; I think enhancing those black lines with textures and shimmer really pulls everything together and makes the color choices look intentional. Thanks so much for stopping by today, and have a marvelous day!
