Simon Says Stamp DieCember Blog Hop Day 1 + Giveaway!

This post was sponsored by Simon Says Stamp. Thanks, Simon!

Hi friends! DieCember has arrived (check it out HERE) and with it tons of new products that are sure to make your crafting a breeze! We are celebrating this fabulous new release with a two day blog hop. You should have arrived here from Jennifer McGuire, and your next stop is Amy Rysavy. You can also start back at the beginning at the Simon Says Stamp Blog in case you get lost along the way! I had such fun creating new projects for this month’s release; die cutting is one of my most favorite crafty techniques, as it can be used in so many fun ways. I have a soft spot in my heart for winter deer, and so the new Fawn Surprise embossing folder and coordinating dies immediately caught my eye! I paired these classic winter images with a fun, non-traditional color palette to create this unique snowglobe shaker card. Let’s get started with the details!

*I have gathered links to all of the products used at the bottom of the post for your convenience, using affiliate links at no extra cost to you. Thank you for shopping with my links! I truly appreciate your support for my work!*

To begin, I die cut the two sweet little deer from Fawn Surprise from white cardstock, then placed them in their appropriate spot inside the embossing folder and ran it through my die cutting machine, adding the additional texture and definition to their features. I then used OLO Markers to add vibrant bubblegum pink to them, channeling a vintage holiday vibe that I thought looked perfect with these baby deer! I added some details with a white gel pen and black Micron pen, as well.

To continue the vintage vibe on my project, I placed an A2 panel of Seafoam cardstock inside the new Antique Snowglobe embossing folder, which embosses and cuts in one fell swoop! To enhance the details on the snowglobe, I used a silver paint pen on the scallops and filigree details, as well as some pale aqua OLO Markers to help add additional interest and color to the snowglobe. I backed the window with a piece of acetate, then used thin foam adhesive squares to tuck the deer within the base of the snowglobe. Behind the deer, I used a blending brush to blend an aqua halo on a second A2 Seafoam card panel using Seafoam Pawsitively Saturated Ink, as well as around the edge of the embossed panel. I also die cut the trio of Splendid Snowflakes from pearlescent white cardstock and placed them behind the deer, adhering them to the blended card base with liquid adhesive.

For the greeting, I silver embossed the simple “winter wishes” sentiment from the Label Slides Christmas stamp set onto a Seafoam Label Slides die cut, then used some coordinating pink twine to adhere it around the back of the embossed snowglobe card front. I added strips of foam adhesive around the window, thicker in depth than the adhesive used to adhere the deer so that the sequins would be able to move freely behind the deer, then filled my shaker with Marshmallow sequins and Rock Candy Chunky Glitter. The color palette and the chunky glitter make this project look so perfectly kitschy, in my opinion!! It would also work with mint, red, and white or even kraft and cherry red! So cute!

Well, that’s all for my project today. Now for some fun giveaway information!

Simon Says Stamp is giving away a $25 coupon to every stop on the hop selected from the blog comment section. Winners will be selected and posted on the Simon Says Stamp blog on Wednesday the 10th of December where they can find out how to redeem their prize.

Not only are there prizes up for grabs, but you can also receive a darling free gift with purchase! Simply purchase any item from the DieCember release (check it out HERE) to receive the brand new, as-yet-unreleased Bundled Snowman die for free with your order! He’s pictured in the graphic at the top of the post, and I think he’s so darn cute!! Such a great incentive to treat yourself. 🙂

Your next stop is Amy Rysavy. Thanks so much for stopping by today, and happy hopping!

Everything about your card is vintage perfection. The aqua and pink colors set the tone for the vintage vibe and to highlight the new Antique Snowglobe cut & embossing folder. You spared no attention to detail and the end results are absolutely stunning. I LOVE your card, it would be right at home sitting on someone’s mantle.
