Hi friends! I have another round of inspiration to share with you today using goodies from the Simon Says Stamp Card Kit of the Month for March 2026 (click HERE to see all of the details!). These card kits are always filled with such an exquisite array of products, and this month not only are there marvelous products in the kit itself, but there are some fabulous add-ons that you can use to create an endless supply of gorgeous cards. Here’s a sneak peek of the different goodies included with the card kit:
This kit contains so many fun individual components to create beautifully colorful projects that are sure to bring a smile to the recipient! For yesterday’s post (check it out HERE) I chose a feminine pink and green color palette using only a few of the rainbow of inks included with the kit. Today, I selected a cool color palette, again employing the stamping off and ink layering techniques to create an even wider variety of colors using just three ink colors. Let’s get started with the details on my project!
Whenever I am presented with an individual flower set, I always am inspired to create a lush floral background. I start by stamping the largest image, in this case, the pretty purple flower, then add the next smallest image, followed by the next smallest, and so on. I selected just three shades of ink from the inks included with the kit: Violet, Marine, and Field. I stamped the large Violet flowers at full strength, rotating the image and the cardstock as I stamped each new image so that they didn’t look too cookie cutter. I then used the stamping off technique to stamp foliage, combining half strength Field and full strength Marine for the floral sprigs. To do this, I stamped the sprigs using Marine at full strength, then inked up the same stamp with Field, stamped off once on scratch paper, then stamped directly over the top of the Marine sprig. The result is a pretty green-blue that works beautifully with the cool color palette of the rest of the card!
I stamped the other images using a combination of full strength and half-strength inks, completing the pattern over the entirety of the A2 card front, then splattered the entire panel with some of the Pawsitively Perfect Silver Splatter included with the March 2026 Card Kit of the Month. Next, I stamped some individual images on a separate piece of white cardstock using the same shades of ink and die cut them using the add-on dies. These dies really are a great investment for a set that has so many individual images!
For the greeting, I used the new EZ Strips XL Banner add-on die to die cut one of the EZ Strips XL Basics sentiment panels that are included with the March 2026 Kit. I selected my greeting, thinking that the serene color palette lent itself well to a sympathy card, and adhered the sentiment to the patterned background with foam adhesive squares. I arranged the flowers in a bouquet around the sentiment strip, adhering some with liquid adhesive and some with foam adhesive in two thicknesses to create extra dimension. Finally, I added a few sparkling Clear Pawsitively Dazzling Gems for additional shimmer and shine!
