Hi friends! I am back with another card that positively exudes springtime cheer! The new Simon Says Stamp Beautiful Moments release (check out the full Beautiful Moments release HERE!) provided us with a wide variety products that are perfect for your springtime and Easter crafting needs, and the sweet Easter Grid stamp set features so many sweet Easter images that make for the cutest cards, especially when paired with the cute, punny sentiments from the new Easter EZ Strips. Let’s get started with the details on my project!
To begin, I selected my color palette using the gorgeous, vibrant colors from the Rainbow Splash Card Fronts, selecting the yellows, pinks, and greens from this cardstock variety pack, then using my trimmer to trim 1/4″ strips from the long edge. I covered my A2 card front with super strong double sided tape, removed the release paper, then began placing my vibrant cardstock strips at a diagonal down the front of my card. This is such a fun way to use your colored cardstock, even cardstock scraps, and I don’t use this technique nearly enough.
After I had created my vibrant background, I needed equally vibrant focal point images, so I stamped some of the eggs from the adorable Easter Grid stamp set using no-line coloring ink, then used OLO Markers to add coordinating pink, green, and yellow to the eggs, adding some cute details with a white gel pen. I love how the details look almost like white embossing, but still maintain the no-line coloring look! I die cut the images with their coordinating dies.
For the greeting, I used the EZ Strips Slanted Rectangles to die cut all of the sentiments from one of the Easter EZ Strips, selecting two for my project and leaving the rest for later. I haven’t always loved punny sentiments, but as a mom, they are growing on me when done with the right images and playful color palette. I trimmed down a strip of vellum to provide a bit of visual focus for the vibrant eggs on top of the vibrant background. I adhered the eggs and sentiment strips to the vellum with thin foam adhesive squares, then flipped the vellum over and added more thin foam adhesive behind the solid die cuts. I adhered the vellum strip to my card front, then added a couple of Sunbeam Pawsitively Dazzling Gems next to the sentiments to add a little sparkle!
