Hi friends! I am back today with a crisp and light springtime card that is perfect for mom, uses only a few simple products, and can be customized with so many different color palettes as to make it super versatile! The new In My Heart release features several beautiful floral embossing folders, but the new Apple Blossoms folder is so eye-catching and full of delicate details that I immediately was drawn to it! (Click HERE to see the entire new release!) I love when Simon Says Stamp releases these larger-scale floral embossing folders; they are so full of possibility for techniques and color palettes! I especially enjoy applying my coloring skills to these pretty florals, wiling away the hours conferring with the flowers (name that song!) using my OLO Markers. Let’s get started on the details on this pretty Mother’s Day card!
To begin, I ran an A2 panel of white cardstock through my die cutting machine using the new Apple Blossoms embossing folder, adding gorgeous embossed details to this plain panel of cardstock. This embossing folder looks stunning on its own, and would look gorgeous in an array of colored cardstocks, adding delicate texture and pattern, but I decided to pull out pale pink and green OLO Markers to add some springy color to the background. It reminds me of chinoiserie! After coloring each delicate blossom with pale pink and each leaf a pale green, I used a gold glitter pen to add some metallic details to the stamens of each flower. The metallic pens are opaque and pop beautifully on the pale colored blooms!
After I had finished coloring the images, I used the new Love You Mom die set to create the greeting, cutting the detail layer from Champagne Matte cardstock and the shadow layer from vellum. I adhered the two layers together using liquid adhesive, then added some very thin strips of clear dimensional adhesive to pop it up on the colorful floral background.
For a bit of extra sparkle on this dainty card, I added a few Gold Pawsitively Dazzling Gems (which match the Champagne Matte cardstock perfectly!) and a sweet gold cord bow, tucked beneath the sentiment die cuts for a feminine touch!
Well, that’s all for my project today! This simple card could be recreated in so many different ways, but I think these peachy pink apple blossoms are so pretty, and definitely are perfect for a Mother’s Day card. Thanks so much for stopping by today, and have a marvelous day!
