Hi friends! I have a meadow of blooms to share with you today using some new products from the Always There release, (click HERE to see the entire collection) which features gorgeous new floral embossing folders! I can’t get enough of floral embossing folders, especially when they also have coordinating dies to make the dimension and depth over the top! The new Blooming Beauties folder features a sweet meadow of blooms and grasses, and I’ve put my OLO Markers to use creating this vibrant card. Let’s get started with the details!
To begin, I die cut the blooms from the Blooming Beauties product suite, then ran the die cuts through my die cutting machine in the embossing folder. I also ran a full A2 panel of white cardstock through the machine with the folder. Once I had completed adding the texture to all of the elements, I used blending brushes to softly blend Jade and Marine Pawsitively Saturated Ink to help enhance the idea of the “grass” and “sky” on the scene. I made sure to select two very light shades so that I could easily color over the top of the blended areas while still having that soft glow of the grass and sky behind the detailed colored areas.
Next, I used OLO Markers to add vibrant pink to the individual blooms and soft green to the foliage and grasses. The light ink blending made it super easy to go over the top with more vibrant colors without worrying about the blended areas contaminating the alcohol marker coloring. After I had finished coloring all of the individual elements, I used thin foam adhesive squares to pop up the individual blooms on their appropriate stems. I love how much extra dimension this adds to the scene!
For the greeting, I stamped a sentiment from the new Frankly, My Dear using Jade Pawsitively Saturated Ink, then stamped again directly over the top using embossing ink and added iridescent embossing powder over the top. I love the shimmer that this embossing powder adds to the gentle green greeting! I used the coordinating die to cut the image out and popped it up with a double layer of foam adhesive to give it a bit of extra height. Finally, I added some sparkling Prism Pawsitively Dazzling Gems, which adds the most luscious sparkle to the finished card.
Well, that’s all for my project today! We are hopefully moving to our new house in a few weeks, and we have planned forthe front yard to become a meadow of flowers to hopefully help the pollinators and, well, just be prettier than an acre of soybeans.
