Hi friends! I am back today with a clean, crisp, and super feminine birthday card using a delicate doily die and some simple-but-spectacular solid floral stamps from the new Simon Says Stamp Every Happiness release (click HERE to check out the entire release!). The incredibly gorgeous and detailed nesting shape dies that Simon Says Stamp has been releasing lately are simply scrumptious, and I can’t get enough of them. They’re just the perfect ground for a focal point! I paired the new Petal Point Frames with some gorgeous solid florals from the new Forest Forage in Summer and a dainty color palette to create this flirty and feminine birthday card. Let’s get started with the details!
To begin, I die cut lots of images from the new Forest Forage in Summer product suite. When working with multi-layer stamps like this one, I like to die cut first so that I can be sure that the stamps will line up properly within the confines of the die cut lines. I die cut the images, reserving the negative space leftover, then placed the leftover panel inside my MISTI and used the open spaces to perfectly place my stamps in the center of each opening. I then stamped the images using Pawsitively Saturated Inks in shades of Heather, Periwinkle, Limelicious, & Ballerina. I just love how the soft pink and purple inks juxtapose so beautifully against the vibrant and almost neon Limelicious ink of the foliage!
After I had cut and stamped an abundance of flowers and foliage, I used Periwinkle ink to stamp the birthday sentiment from the new Paper Cut Messages, which I die cut using it’s coordinating die. I also die cut a sweet “doily” using the new Petal Point Frames nesting die set. I thought that the delicate details on the edge of these rectangular shapes would work beautifully with the feminine floral images!
I adhered the embellished rectangle die cut in the center of a white A2 card base using thin foam adhesive squares, then placed the birthday greeting in the center of the doily with some more thin foam adhesive. Next, I arranged the flowers and foliage in a larger swag below the sentiment and a smaller bouquet above, lending some visual balance to the card. Finally, I embellished the flower centers and a few bare spots with some sparkling Bubblegum Pawsitively Dazzling Gems, adding some much-needed sparkle to this card. The pink gems coordinate so beautifully with the pink blooms!
