Good morning! Today’s the day! All of the holiday Essentials By Ellen products that you’ve seen peeks of throughout the last week are now available for purchase! There’s a little something for everybody: incredibly useful dies, essential holiday sentiment sets, and the cutest little snowman that you’ve ever seen! I have three projects to share with you today (and a video coming later this week with those sweet snowmen), so let’s get started with the details!

For my first project, I wanted to pair the darling new Alpine Snowfall background die with last month’s Over the River stamps and dies. I stamped the images in Copic-friendly ink on white card stock, then colored them in a gray, black, and red color combination using my Copic markers. (I just love those little pops of red!). I die cut the Alpine Snowfall from the center of a panel of white card stock, then backed it with some silver glitter paper.

I adhered the houses, trees, and mountains beneath the little umbrella of snow using dimensional adhesive, then added a greeting from the new Snow Days stamp set stamped on a strip of white card stock and adhered using dimensional foam adhesive. The final step was to add some strips of red foil to the top and bottom of the main panel to help make those little pops of red jump out even more.

For my second project today, I combined the snowflakes from the new Pop Up Mittens die set with the new Skinny Stripes die. I began by die cutting Skinny Stripes from a panel of white card stock and mounting it on an A2 card base. I then die cut several snowflakes from the Pop Up Mittens die set using blue glitter paper and arranged them in a little cascade down the front of my striped panel. I love using white on white die cuts to give textural interest  to a background on a simple card.

After I’d adhered my snowflakes (popping up the largest one in the very center using dimensional foam adhesive), I heat embossed a greeting from Snow Days onto a small piece of vellum and adhered it directly to the largest snowflake, hiding the adhesive behind the thick letters of the greeting. As a final touch, I added some bling to fill out the cascade: Blue Lagoon jewels from Pretty Pink Posh and some blue Nuvo drops.

For my last card today, I wanted to use the fantastic new mittens and snowflakes from Pop Up Mittens as the focal point for my card front. The dies included in this set are absolutely ginormous; they easily created this card front. I began by die cutting the mittens from some pale pink card stock, then stamped the pattern on the front with one of the background blocks included in the Snow Days stamp set using Raspberry Jam ink from Hero Arts. I also blended some of the same Raspberry Jam ink around the edges of the mittens for added contrast. I stamped a greeting from Snow Days onto a small square of the same pale pink card stock using Wow’s Platinum Sparkle embossing powder.

For the snowflakes, I wanted to create super sparkly snowflakes that perfectly matched the super sparkly sentiment, so I placed my Versamark pad directly to a panel of scrap card stock, covered it in sticky ink, then covered that sticky panel in Platinum Sparkle embossing powder and heated it up. I used this super sparkly panel to die cut snowflakes from Pop Up Mittens. DIY glitter paper FTW! After doing all of the die cutting, I lightly blended some more Raspberry Jam ink in the center of my card stock panel, then adhered the die cuts to the card front using dimensional and liquid adhesive.
