Simon Says Stamptember with Studio Katia and a birthday freebie!!

September 2, 2020

September is here, and with it comes all things pumpkin, scarves, annnndd…. Stamptember with Simon Says Stamp, where the stamping community celebrates all things stampy and wonderful! This is the 11th Stamptember for Simon Says Stamp, and not only do they design wonderful new products for their own brand during this month, but they also have fabulous collaborations with the other stamp companies that we know and love! Today’s collaboration set comes to you from Studio Katia, for whom I had the pleasure of designing for almost a year before my little guys were born. Studio Katia is known for their beautiful floral designs, perfect for coloring (and right up my alley!), and the Stamptember collaboration sets are just charming! I only had time to make one project, but there are two sets available tonight, and to celebrate Heidi’s birthday…. they’re doing a buy one, get one free! That’s right; if you buy the exclusive Stamptember Studio Katia set, Floral Bunches …

… you will receive the Birthday Floral for free! What a wonderful way to celebrate Heidi’s birthday!

For my project today, I used the free gift with purchase stamp set, Birthday Floral Bunches to create a card that screams September to me: not quite summer, but not quite autumn yet, either. I paired deep mustard and olive with coral and fuchsia to create this pretty project. Let’s get started with the details!

I began by stamping the main floral image three times, first on a panel of white, Copic-friendly cardstock, then again on a Post-It Note and fussy cutting to create a mask, then again on the white cardstock panel with the mask applied. I used Hero Arts Intens-ified Black Ink to stamp the image to completely cover the long end of a panel of A2 cardstock. I used my Copic markers to color the images in this unique combination!

After my image had been colored completely, I used very sharp scissors to fussy cut around the long edge of the cardstock panel. Next, I used Studio Katia Blending Brushes to blend some beautiful gold and orange inks along the straight edge of my white cardstock: Marigold and Clementine, both from Pinkfresh Studio.

After ink blending, I used foam adhesive to pop up the colored and blended panel on an A2 panel of Hero Hues Plum cardstock to help bring out the fuchsia in my floral swag. I heat embossed the greeting from the Birthday Floral Bunches on a rectangle of black cardstock using some rose gold embossing powder. The final touch was to add some black gems for a hint of sparkle!

Well, that’s all for today’s project! Keep your eyes trained on Simon Says Stamp this month; they’ve got loads of fantastic new products revealed throughout the month, and many of them are limited edition…. once they’re gone, they’re gone! Today’s promotion is no exception. The promotion lasts only on 9/3/20, so if you want to receive the gorgeous freebie, purchase your Floral Bunches early-it’s only while supplies last.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Happy birthday, Heidi, and happy Stamptember!

Studio Katia Paws For Kindness Blog Hop+Giveaway!

November 13, 2019

Hi there! I have a special blog post for you today. Studio Katia is releasing a darling new stamp and die bundle called Paws for Kindness, featuring some sweet little critters and their owners, as well as some fantastic sentiments, and we are celebrating with a blog hop! You should have arrived here from Ilda Dias, and your next stop is Kaja Vezenšek.

This is an exclusive stamp set and coordinating die bundle featuring specifically designed to celebrate the World Kindness Day.
Studio Katia will donate $10 from every sale of this special stamp bundle to Pets in the Classroom, because we truly believe that all children should have the opportunity to learn about the responsibilities, respect for life and being kind to one another.

Such a cute stamp set for such a wonderful cause! I have a clean and simple project for you today, so let’s get started with the details!

To start, I began by stamping the little girl with her corgi and kitty friends from Paws for Kindness, using some Copic-friendly black ink on white cardstock. (Look at the little corgi tail waggling! So cute!) I then used my Copic markers to color the images in and die cut the image using the coordinating dies, included in the bundle.

Next, I stamped this super poignant greeting (perfect for that friend who’s lost a beloved furry family member) from the Paws for Kindness on some strips of white cardstock. I cut a white background using the newly released Mini Polka Dots Cover Die and adhered it to a white A2 card base for a quick, textured background, allowing my colored trio and greeting to take center stage on this card. I don’t like to add too much in the way of sparkles for a sympathy card, so I kept this one nice and clean.

Well, that’s all for my project today. Now, Studio Katia has some fun giveaways for you!

Studio Katia is giving away TWO $25 CAD gift certificates on their Blog. Winners will be chosen randomly from comments left under all the Blogs. All comments must be left by Friday, November 22nd, 2019, 23:59 PM EST. Winners will be announced on Sunday, November 24th, 2019 on SK Blog.

Studio Katia Winter 2019 Release Blog Hop!

October 22, 2019

Hi there! Today is the blog hop celebrating the Winter 2019 release from Studio Katia! You should have arrived here from Ilda Dias, and your next stop is Liliya Rytsar. This release includes 6 New Clear Stamp Sets and 4 Sets of Coordinating Dies, 4 New Stand Alone Creative Dies, 3 New Stencils and 2 New Glitter Jars! There are some fantastic new sets available for purchase today, and I’ve got a wintry project to share with you today using one of the latest sets: Snowflake and Snowflake Dies. Let’s get started with the details!

I began by heat embossing several of the stamps from the Snowflake set onto some aqua cardstock using white embossing powder. I then used the new blender brushes (and be sure to take a look at the fabulous blender brush caddy, too!) to blend some pale gray ink over the top of the snowflakes to create a bit of a swirling effect.

Next, I heat embossed several more snowflakes on some shimmering silver cardstock from the Snowflake set, then die cut them using the Snowflake Dies. I layered the die cuts over the top of the snowflake background using foam adhesive, then used some clear lacquer to add some of the new Sparkle Glitter and Frost Glitter to the snowflake die cuts.

I added a sentiment from the Snowflake set, embossed on a small square of gray cardstock, then added a few random sequins to complete the sparkling wintry feel of the card!

Now, for some fun giveaway information! Studio Katia has generously given each stop on the blog hop a $25 CAD gift certificate to give away! Stamptember+Studio Katia Release!

September 21, 2019

Hi there! I have a quick post tonight sharing the Studio Katia collaboration set for Simon Says Stamp’s Stamptember celebration! (What a whirlwind of incredible releases, right?) Studio Katia is known for some really fantastic florals, and this stamp set is no exception!

This collaboration set features a lovely, delicate floral wreath and coordinating die that cuts out the center of the wreath, which I think is just super unique!

For my project today, I wanted to highlight the cutout center of the wreath by creating a shaker card. I stamped the image on a panel of white cardstock using Intensified Black ink, then used my Copic markers to color it in a pretty combination of blue violet and emerald green.

I die cut the finished colored image using the coordinating die, reserving the negative die cut. I added a panel of acetate behind the negative die cut to create the shaker element, then replaced the die cut flowers, leaving out the center die cut. I also blended a bit of Hydrangea ink on the white A2 card base.

I filled the shaker with some Majestic Fusion and tiny Crystal Clear sequins, finally adding the greeting from the Studio Katia Stamptember set on a strip of white cardstock.

Well, that’s all for my project today! If you’re as in love with this set as I am, don’t hesitate to purchase. Once these Stamptember sets are gone, they’re gone for good!

Studio Katia September 2019 Release Blog Hop!

September 12, 2019

Hi there! Welcome to the next stop on the Studio Katia September New Release Blog Hop! We have some fabulous new products to share with you today, including 3 new Clear Stamp Sets, 2 sets of Coordinating Dies, 6 new stand alone Creative Dies and 6 new Embellishments! You should have arrived from Natalia Zubkova‘s blog, and your next stop is Kaja VezenÅ¡ek‘s blog. I have two autumn-themed projects to share with you today, so let’s get started with the details!

My first project today is a simple shaker card created with the new Shaker Apple Dies. I die cut the apple from the center of a panel of rosy lavender cardstock, then used the Scallop Frame dies to add a little dotted scalloped border to add a bit of interest to the card front. I added some acetate behind the apple window to create the shaker. I added the die cut leaves and stem for the apple, as well as a white Thanks from the Shaker Apple Die set.

I love two toned apple, particularly the light green apples with the pink tinge, so I used a blender brush to add a touch of pink to the top of my pale green apple, then filled the shaker with some Rose Gold Confetti.

For my second card, I used the pink and green apples as inspiration for this non-traditionally colored autumn project. I don’t care much for traditional autumn colors, so I chose to color some peach pumpkins and pink and green apples from the Autumn Borders stamp set. I began by stamping the image using some Copic-friendly black ink, then colored the images using a variety of Copic markers. I also added some Glossy Accents to the apples to make them pretty and shiny.

I added a sentiment from the Autumn Borders beneath the apples and pumpkins. I added some pink and peach blending around the edges to tie into the pink and peach apples and pumpkins, finally adding some Rose Gold Confetti and mounting the colored panel on a piece of berry colored cardstock.

Well, that’s all for my projects today! Time for some giveaway information:
