Homage to Feminine Birthday Cards with New Simon Says Stamp!

Hi friends! I am back today with a clean, crisp, and super feminine birthday card using a delicate doily die and some simple-but-spectacular solid floral stamps from the new Simon Says Stamp Every Happiness release (click HERE to check out the entire release!). The incredibly gorgeous and detailed nesting shape dies that Simon Says Stamp has been releasing lately are simply scrumptious, and I can’t get enough of them. They’re just the perfect ground for a focal point! I paired the new Petal Point Frames with some gorgeous solid florals from the new Forest Forage in Summer and a dainty color palette to create this flirty and feminine birthday card. Let’s get started with the details!

To begin, I die cut lots of images from the new Forest Forage in Summer product suite. When working with multi-layer stamps like this one, I like to die cut first so that I can be sure that the stamps will line up properly within the confines of the die cut lines. I die cut the images, reserving the negative space leftover, then placed the leftover panel inside my MISTI and used the open spaces to perfectly place my stamps in the center of each opening. I then stamped the images using Pawsitively Saturated Inks in shades of Heather, Periwinkle, Limelicious, & Ballerina. I just love how the soft pink and purple inks juxtapose so beautifully against the vibrant and almost neon Limelicious ink of the foliage!

After I had cut and stamped an abundance of flowers and foliage, I used Periwinkle ink to stamp the birthday sentiment from the new Paper Cut Messages, which I die cut using it’s coordinating die. I also die cut a sweet “doily” using the new Petal Point Frames nesting die set. I thought that the delicate details on the edge of these rectangular shapes would work beautifully with the feminine floral images!

I adhered the embellished rectangle die cut in the center of a white A2 card base using thin foam adhesive squares, then placed the birthday greeting in the center of the doily with some more thin foam adhesive. Next, I arranged the flowers and foliage in a larger swag below the sentiment and a smaller bouquet above, lending some visual balance to the card. Finally, I embellished the flower centers and a few bare spots with some sparkling Bubblegum Pawsitively Dazzling Gems, adding some much-needed sparkle to this card. The pink gems coordinate so beautifully with the pink blooms!

Well, that’s all for my project today! I absolutely love being able to tap into my girly-girl sensibilities and pull out all of the feminine stops on a project. Pink, purple, flowers, lace, sparkles…. yes please! Thanks so much for stopping by today, and have a marvelous day!

Shining Happy Shaker with New Simon Says Stamp!

July 14, 2026

This post was sponsored by Simon Says Stamp. Thanks, Simon! *I have gathered links to all of the products used at the bottom of the post for your convenience, using affiliate links at no extra cost to you. Thank you for shopping with my links! I truly appreciate your support for my work!*

Hi friends! I have a super fun and happy project to share with you today featuring some fabulous new products from the Simon Says Stamp Shine On release! (click HERE to see the full release!) I always gravitate towards cover plates; they make such an enormous impact on your card front with one pass through your die cutting machine, and there are so many fun ways to get creative with them! I chose to use the new Tall Happy Cover as the focal point for my shimmering rainbow shaker card, adding a sassy birthday sentiment for good measure. Let’s get started on the details of my project!

To begin, I die cut the new Tall Happy Cover from some iridescent white foil cardstock. To bring in the lovely pastel iridescent colors from the cardstock, I decided to go full-on happy with a pretty blended pastel rainbow! I blended a vertical rainbow on my horizontal card front using Pawsitively Saturated Inks in shades of Ballerina, Lilac, Seafoam, Jade, and Butter. I love how beautifully these shades fade into one another, creating just the prettiest rainbow! For good measure, I splattered the blended panel with sparkling iridescent glitter watercolors.

After I had finished creating the background, I decided to create a flat shaker card. I used some leftover stamp packaging to create the translucent pocket over the entire blended card front, then filled the pocket with beautiful Rainbow Stardust Embellishments. These colors worked absolutely perfectly with the pastel blended rainbow!

Once the shaker base had been completed, I finished off the focal point. I adhered the Tall Happy Cover Plate die cut to the front of the shaker pocket with liquid adhesive, then created a “sentiment enhancement” with the new Old Broad Squad. I stamped the two (somewhat sassy!) sentiments from the set with Seafoam ink, then stamped again with embossing ink and added iridescent embossing powder over the top to create a lovely, shimmery greeting. I die cut these two sentiments and placed them on the card front with foam adhesive squares, layering them over the top of the Happy die cut. Finally, I added some sparkling Dewpierce Tiny Butterflies cut from iridescent white glitter cardstock and peeking around the lines of the Tall Happy die cut! I just love how happy and light this card turned out. Perfect for a birthday card for a treasured friend!

Well, that’s all for my project today! If you are an on-the-fly crafter like I sometimes have to be (mom life, am I right?), cover plates are your new bestie! You could very easily simplify this project by removing the shaker element and just have the gorgeous rainbow behind the cover plate die cut do the heavy lifting for you. It still would be such a pretty card! Thanks so much for stopping by today, and have a marvelous day!

This kit is chock full of fantastic basics that you can use to create such an enormous variety of projects. Here’s a peek at the contents of the kit:

I used the stamps included in the kit with a fun technique involving black cardstock, white pigment ink, and colorful inks, creating this dramatic bokeh-inspired background that’s perfect for a guy! Let’s get started on the details for my project!

I began by stamping a cascade of solid circle stamps from the Pop Art set using white pigment ink. This ink sits atop the cardstock without sinking down into it, creating a barrier that is perfect for allowing the colorful ink to shine on this black cardstock! Once I had stamped all of the circles (large and small) with white pigment ink, I stamped directly over the top of the solid cirlces using Pawsitively Saturated Inks in shades of Limelicious, Tidepool, and Surf, creating a subtly colorful background! I know there is a name for this technique, but I can’t recall it right now!)

To add a bit of extra interest to the background, I stamped directly over the top of the colorful bubbles using the circle frame stamp included with Pop Art. Such a fun way to add texture to the card!

After I had stamped the background, I splattered the panel with some shimmering, iridescent watercolors for an artistic flair.

For the greeting, I kept things simple, die cutting the Reverse XL EZ Strips Banners panel included with the kit using the Big Bold Headlines XL EZ Strips. I also stamped one of the sentiment strips from the Pop Art stamp set using white pigment ink and added white embossing powder over the top to create a crisp white sentiment on the black cardstock. I popped both sentiment pieces up in the center of the bokeh-inspired background using foam adhesive squares, then finished the project off with some sparkling Prism Pawsitively Dazzling Gems included with the kit!

Well, that’s all for my project today!

The Simon Says Stamp Card Kits are such an incredible value; the value of the individual elements of each kit equals far more than the $44.99 price tag, so you’re getting incredible bang for your buck. If you are consistently interested in the Simon Says Stamp Card Kit of the Month, you can sign up HERE to become a subscriber for an even bigger discount on these carefully curated products. More Darling Duckies with Simon Says Stamp + Memorial Day SALE!

May 21, 2026

Hi friends! I am back with another Darling Duckies card, this time featuring only the stencils and a few other fun products that I used to create this sweet shaker card, perfect for a birthday for a little one! Make Way for Ducklings has always been one of my favorite books from childhood, and creating bunches of fluffy little yellow ducklings with the fun duckie products from Simon Says Stamp is super fun. Yesterday’s project (click HERE to see it!) was perfect for a baby card (boy or girl as ducks are fairly gender-neutral imagery!), so today I thought I’d create a birthday card for a little one. And what kiddo could resist a shaker card?? Let’s get started with the details on my project!

To begin, I used blending brushes to blend Butter and Cantaloupe Pawsitively Saturated Ink over the the Darling Duckies Stencils on a panel of 3.75″ x 5″ white cardstock. I used my Stencil Station to make for super quick and easy stenciling! After I had finished blending all of the layers, I used some leftover stamp packaging to construct a clear pocket to create my shaker card. I filled the shaker pouch with gorgeous Golden Hour Embellishment Mix and placed it in the center of a full sized A2 card base, leaving a white frame around the exterior edge.

I had a mild love affair with the adorable Cute Duckling die set when it was released, and to my delight, it matched beautifully with the Darling Duckies Stencils! I die cut one of the Cute Duckling dies from white cardstock, then used my OLO Markers to add shadows and shape to the flat die cut. I think it looks so darn cute!! I also stamped and die cut a couple of greetings from Birthday Basics, stamping the sentiments using Nocturne pigment ink, then adding clear embossing powder over the top to make the lines super crisp and vibrant, then die cut them with their coordinating dies.

After I had created all of the components for the card, I trimmed a rectangle of vellum down to fit just across the stenciled shaker panel, then layered my duckie and sentiment die cuts over the top of the vellum. This semi-opaque cardstock creates a bit of a visual barrier from the busy background without adding more visual weight to the card. I adhered the die cuts with thin foam adhesive squares, then flipped the vellum piece over and added more thin foam adhesive behind the solid die cuts so that they were hidden behind the die cuts and didn’t show through the vellum. I placed the vellum piece on the card front, then added an Iridescent White Cord bow beneath the die cuts to add a bit more texture and whimsy!

Well, that’s all for my project today! Isn’t it just darling? How sweet would it be for a first or second birthday party?

Man Card Monday: Stripes and Cupcakes with Simon Says Stamp!

February 2, 2026

This post was sponsored by Simon Says Stamp. Thanks, Simon! *I have gathered links to all of the products used at the bottom of the post for your convenience, using affiliate links at no extra cost to you. Thank you for shopping with my links! I truly appreciate your support for my work!*

Hi friends! It’s been a bit for a Man Card Monday project, so I thought I’d start February off with something a bit different from the ordinary hearts-and-flowers-and-lace themes that are typical in this Valentine’s month! I love the idea of the newer Stripped die set from Simon Says Stamp; creating striped card fronts that are perfectly proportioned and measured (anybody else with a left brain measuring deficiency like me?), making it super easy to create a spectacular background for your A2 card fronts. And what’s more appropriate for a masculine card than stripes?! Let’s get started with the details on my project!

To begin, I die cut the Stripped cover plate die from plain white cardstock. Now, you could use colored cardstock and cut yourself a multitude of stripes to easily create a multitude of colorful striped card fronts, but I wanted to use specific colors and didn’t have time to create a ton of cards. Solution? Ink swiping! I selected Pawsitively Saturated Inks in shades of Shell, Flax, Eucalyptus, Mist, and Night and swiped the ink pads directly atop the plain white stripes, creating a muted (masculine?) rainbow with ease. If that pale peach isn’t masculine enough for you, you could easily swap it out with a deep maroon or even gray. I added lots of strong, double-sided adhesive tape to my A2 card front, then adhered the stripes to the card front super quickly. This was such an easy way to make a colorful background in exactly the colors I had in my head!

To adorn my card front, I stamped a cupcake and candle from the older Sweet Birthday stamp set using no-line coloring ink. I then used OLO Markers to add coordinating mint and navy coloring to the cupcake, focusing on the more masculine colors in the muted striped background. I used the coordinating dies to cut the finished images out, then stamped a simple “let’s celebrate you” strip from the same stamp set using Night ink. This sentiment strip became the perfect “stand” for my cupcake!

To add a bit more visual weight to my card front, I created a sentiment with the newer Bouncy Happy Birthday, cutting the detail layer from navy blue glitter cardstock and the shadow from vellum. I popped all of the die cuts up on the striped card front with dimensional adhesive, then added a few Clear Pawsitively Dazzling Gems. I know, it’s for a guy, but I can’t resist adding a little shine to my cards!!

Well, that’s all for the first Man Card Monday for 2026! I am very glad that January is over. It always feels like the longest month in existence, doesn’t it? Thanks so much for stopping by today, and have a marvelous day!
