Hi there! Happy Monday! Today, Altenew is releasing their latest stamp and die collection: Whimsical Wonder! You should have arrived here from LauraJane, and your next stop is Verity Biddlecombe. You can also start back at the beginning at the Altenew Card Blog. I have two projects for you today, so let’s get started with the details!
Both projects feature a soft, warm coral and creamy butterscotch tones from the Martian Terrain ink pad quartet and Delectable Delights ink pad quartet, but both have a completely different aesthetic to them!
My first card uses the Bouquet of Love stamp stamps and dies. I began by heat embossing the main image using gold embossing powder onto some plain white cardstock, then used the Martian Terrain ink pad quartet and Delectable Delights ink pad quartet with the new Detailed Blending Brushes.
Once I had finished adding subtle color to the embossed Bouquet of Love image, I also used the lightest shades in the Martian Terrain ink pad quartet and Delectable Delights ink pad quartet to blend some subtle color on a plain white A2 card base using the Small Blending Brushes. I love the super subtle blending that you can achieve with the soft bristles on the Small Blending Brushes.
I die cut the blended image and used foam adhesive to pop it up on the blended card front. I added a heat embossed greeting from the Bouquet of Love stamp set, also popping it up using foam adhesive for lots of dimension. I added a few gems for some sparkle!
For my second project, I used the new coordinating dies with the previously released Hill Blossoms stencil set. I blended the entire stencil on a white card base, again using the Martian Terrain ink pad quartet and Delectable Delights ink pad quartet and the Small Blending Brushes. I also blended the lightest of the of the Delectable Delights up in the corner.
I also blended another of the Hill Blossoms stenciled images and die cut it using the new coordinating dies. I stamped a greeting from Many Thanks on a strip of white cardstock. I adhered both of the die cuts on the blended card front using foam adhesive. A few sparkling gems finished it off!
