Mother’s Day Love in Purple with New Simon Says Stamp!

Hi friends! I just spent a weekend with some of my favorite crafty friends, and I’m back feeling refreshed and with a new creative spring in my step! I have some Easter projects planned for this week, but I wanted to share this pretty-in-purple Mother’s Day card with you using lots of new goodies from the  Simon Says Stamp n My Heart release! (Click HERE to see the entire new release!) Embossing folders are one of my absolute favorite products to use; so many incredible techniques can be applied to the magnificent textures created with these inexpensive products. They truly give you such a great bang for your buck! I chose to add some pencil coloring to the new Blooming Wreath embossing folder, adding some extra interest by starting with a colored cardstock base. Let’s get started with the details on my project!

To begin my project, I ran a panel of the new Moonflower cardstock through my die cutting machine using the Blooming Wreath embossing folder. I then used my colored pencils and a silver paint pen to add lots of delicate details to the embossed flowers, adding different shades of purple and shimmering metallics to the intricate images that had been embossed into my cardstock. Starting with the pale lavender cardstock helps enhance the monochromatic aesthetic of my project! Once I had finished coloring all of the images, I used my sharp scissors to cut the finished wreath out, as well as using a sharp craft knife to cut out the center of my wreath. I backed the finished wreath with vellum, creating the perfect circlet upon which to arrange my greeting!

After I had completed the floral wreath, I stamped the new Best Mom Background onto a full size A2 panel of the Moonflower cardstock using Lilac Pawsitively Saturated Ink. I then adhered the finished wreath over the center of the stamped panel using foam adhesive. The vellum behind the wreath helps to soften the patterned background, allowing plenty of visual space for the eye to focus on the sentiment!

After I had mounted the wreath, I heat embossed two greetings from the new Thanks Mom stamp set onto more Moonflower cardstock using silver embossing powder. I used the coordinating dies to die cut the greetings and placed them in the center of my colored wreath, again using foam adhesive, adding a bit of extra height to the sentiment so that it was easily viewed by the recipient. I tied some silver cord around the entire card base, nestling the bow beneath the greeting, then adhered my card front to my A2 card base. Finally, I added some Clear Pawsitively Dazzling Gems for an additional touch of sparkle!

Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember Collaboration 9/24/25: Penny Black!

Hi friends! I am back again with another STAMPtember collaboration project! Today, we’re introducing the exclusive, limited editon Penny Black STAMPtember Collaboration Set: Bright and Merry! I decided to create a large A7 Christmas card today, taking advantage of the generous size of the detailed Christmas tree stamp in the Bright and Merry stamp set to create an easily mailed, almost-single layer holiday card with lots of sparkling elements and a pretty bow. Let’s get started on the details for my project!

To begin my project, I stamped the beautiful Christmas tree from Bright and Merry on a panel of Simon Says Stamp Sage cardstock using embossing ink, then used Hero Arts Iridescent Gold embossing powder to emboss the image. This iridescent embossing powder is absolutely exquisite on colored cardstock, but this card would look gorgeous if you replaced the gold with white ink and Iridescent Blue embossing powder for a cooler-toned project! After I had heat embossed the tree and the greeting from Bright and Merry onto a 4×6 panel of Sage cardstock, I used a blending brush to blend Sage Pawsitively Saturated Ink around the edge of the panel, creating a “glow” around the Christmas tree.

I love adding lots of sparkling elements to my holiday cards, so I used gold watercolor to splatter around the edges of the blended panel, creating shimmering metallic “snow” and adding that general magical Christmas feel to the card. To help the ornaments stand out a bit on the tree, I painted some gold glitter watercolors onto the ornaments, then added Hero Arts Crystal Lacquer directly over the top. The clear lacquer has multiple benefits; it keeps the glittery watercolor securely locked on the ornaments without worry that it will flake off while also adding some extra dimension and texture to the card front.

Once all of the lacquer and watercolor splatters were dried, I centered the blended panel over an A7 Sage card front, creating a Sage frame around my tree. I adhered the panel with liquid adhesive to keep it as flat as possible, and thus easy to mail. For a touch of further sparkle and embellishment, I added some Gold Pawsitively Dazzling Gems as well as a sparkling gold twine bow to the top of the tree. These final gold accents take the card from “pretty” to “polished,” in my opinion!

Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember Collaboration 9/18/25: Honey Bee Stamps!

The new stamp set, called Holiday Greetings, is a large cling stamp set with a gorgeous, wintry outdoor scene with a lovely and detailed birdhouse filled with sweet birdies and beautiful foliage, accompanied by poignant holiday sentiments. For my cards today, I chose to allow the exquisitely detailed illustration do a lot of the work for me, stamping and embossing the image on both white cardstock as well as vellum, to create two completely different cards with the same stamp!

For my first card, I stamped the image from Holiday Greetings on a panel of plain white cardstock using Juniper ink, then stamped again directly over the top of the stamped image with embossing ink and added Hero Arts Iridescent Purple embossing powder, creating a lush, iridescent sheen on the stamped image. I then used a blending brush to blend Jade and Morning Pawsitively Saturated Ink on bottom and top, respectively, adding a hint of “foliage” and “sky.” Once I had finished blending, I applied Multi Medium Matte to the birdhouse and branches, sprinkling Rock Candy Glitter over the top of the wet adhesive to create gloriously sparkly, textured snow. I added a double bow tied with Simon Says Stamp’s Silver Cord to the top of the bird house, then added a couple of the greetings to the bottom of the card, created with the same ink/embossing technique used on the card itself. Some iridescent watercolor splatters and a few gems finished it off!

For my second card, I decided to emboss the beautiful image on some vellum, keeping the imagery botanical by adding some additional die cut foliage and a large die cut greeting. I heat embossed the image from Holiday Greetings onto some vellum, then adhered it to a panel of deep navy blue cardstock, adding dots of liquid adhesive behind the solid embossed areas. I die cut some foliage from the Honey Bee Stamps Lovely Layers Candy Cane using two different shades of soft sage green cardstock, as well as a shiny foil bow. I created a swag with the die cut pine boughs, arranging it around the die cut Joyeux Noël die cut and tucking the bow beneath. I added some slim strips of navy glitter cardstock around the edges of the card front to add a touch more sparkle, then tucked a few gems on the card front for a simple and elegant card!

For both of my projects today, I used a sugar plum fairy color palette, pairing the gorgeous new pink inks in Pawsitively Saturated Ink Trio 34 with the cool, muted greens of Ink Trio 31. My MISTI was also invaluable for both projects; I used the ability to stamp over the top of my dye inked images with embossing ink so that I could add shimmering embossing powder over the top, creating a perfect canvas for emboss/resist technique!

For my first project, I stamped the ornament duo from the exclusive, limited edition Gina K Designs Shimmering Christmas product suite onto some white cardstock using Pawsitively Saturated Eucalyptus ink, then added embossing ink and Hero Arts Iridescent Lavender Embossing Powder, adding a lush iridescent shimmer to these dangling ornaments. After I had embossed the ornaments, I used blending brushes to blend Pawsitively Saturated Inks in shades of Plum, Fairy, and Ballerina around the edges of the embossed panel, adding some second generation stamping with the sparkles from the stamp set as well as some glitter watercolor splatters to create an ethereal, magical background.

For the greeting, I used my MISTI to stamp the sentiment from Shimmering Christmas using Juniper ink, again adding embossing ink and Iridescent Lavender embossing powder over the top. I die cut the image with it’s coordinating die, then added a notched strip of vellum behind it, folding it over the edge of my embossed and blended card front and adding liquid adhesive behind the solid die cut. I added a bow tied with Iridescent White Cord, tucking it beneath the sentiment, then added a couple of die cut sparkles, stamped with Jade ink and embellished with more Iridescent Lavender embossing powder. Finally, I added one more touch of sparkle with Opal Pawsitively Dazzling Gems.

My second project features similar techniques, but creates a sparkling frame for my dangling ornaments! I stamped the ornaments from Shimmering Christmas using Jade Ink, again adding the Lavender Embossing Powder. This time, however, I die cut the finished ornaments and added some ink blending, creating shadows and highlights by concentrating the color towards the bottom edge and tapering off towards the middle. I also stamped and embossed a greeting using the same ink/powder combination, die cutting it with it’s coordinating die.

I created another ethereal, magical holiday background by blending Plum, Fairy, and Ballerina inks down the A2 card front in an ombré, then used Ballerina Ink to stamp a variety of snowflakes and sparkles all over the card front to create a subtle, tone-on-tone winter background. I again splattered the background with iridescent glitter watercolors and popped up a glittery white frame created with Pinkfresh Studio Glacier glitter cardstock and cut with the new Lacy Point Frames and More A2 Rectangles. I popped up the frame with foam adhesive and arranged the baubles within the frame, tucking an embossed and die cut greeting amongst them with a double layer of foam adhesive. Finally, I added some more Opal Pawsitively Dazzling Gems for even more shimmer and sparkle!

Pink and Purple Snowflakes with New Simon Says Stamp!

Hi friends! It is, somehow, the beginning of November, so I am going to be leaning in to the holiday posts as much as I possibly can while it’s “acceptable,” which I deem to be until Epiphany next year! I adore Christmas, I adore crafting, and I am absolutely tickled pink that it’s officially time to lean in to all things Christmas, sparkly, and cheerful. I think we all need some extra joy this year, and who doesn’t need a little more sparkle in their lives? I think that snowflakes are among the most beautiful and somewhat neutral imagery in the holiday arsenal; you can use them for simple winter cards or you can pair them with other imagery to make them specifically Christmas-themed. I have paired the gorgeous new Heartfelt Snowflakes stamps and dies from the Simon Says Stamp Sweet Wishes release with a vibrant fuchsia and plum color palette to create this trio of sparkling “winter” cards and tag, perfect for those who might not celebrate Christmas but still enjoy winter festivities. Let’s get started with the details!

For my projects today, I wanted to select a unique color palette that didn’t necessarily fit the typical “Christmas” color palette, since we were working with the beautifully unique snowflakes of the Heartfelt Snowflakes stamp set. I selected Dragonfruit and Fig from Concord and 9th’s gorgeous color palette. I began by arranging several of the snowflake images on an A2 panel of Fig cardstock, stamping the images first with Simon Says Stamp white pigment ink and embossing them with Hero Arts Iridescent Purple embossing powder. Pairing the white pigment ink and iridescent embossing powder creates a most beautiful, shimmery combination on the vibrant purple cardstock! I repeated the process with a second panel of Fig cardstock, creating two full panels of embossed snowflake patterned paper.

After I had created two panels of snowflake paper, I used the coordinating dies from the Heartfelt Snowflakes product suite to die cut the images, dividing them to create multiple projects. I trimmed down the remaining intact snowflake panel, then used a blending brush to blend Dragonfruit and Fig inks around the edges of the panel, creating a vibrant glow on the embossed panel. I also splattered the background with some sparkling handmade watercolors to add further texture and shimmer.

For the greeting, I die cut the detail layer of the Fancy Tidings of Cheer from pink glitter cardstock and the shadow layer from vellum, adhering the two together using liquid adhesive. I adhered the blended snowflake panel in the center of an A2 Dragonfruit panel of cardstock, leaving a bright pink mat around the edges, then used foam adhesive to add the sentiment die cut and some individual snowflake die cuts. I added Taffy gems to the center of the snowflake die cuts, finishing the card off with a sparkling pink twine bow!

For my second card, I used some of the leftover Heartfelt Snowflakes embossed die cuts to adorn a vibrant shaker card. I used blending brushes to blend Fig and Dragonfruit ink down the diagonal on an A2 panel of Dragonfruit cardstock, splattering the entire panel with some more sparkling watercolors. I used some leftover packaging to create a “flat” shaker pocket, filling the shaker with a variety of color-coordinated sequins and gems.

For the greeting, I die cut the detail layer of the Peace On Earth Script die set using some brushed lavender foil cardstock, backing it with a vellum shadow layer. I arranged some of the leftover embossed snowflake die cuts around the sentiment die cut, adhering them with liquid adhesive, then hiding the dimensional foam squares behind the solid die cuts. I added some Taffy gems to the center of the individual snowflake die cuts, creating a vibrant shaker card that is so festive and fun!

I had one large Heartfelt Snowflakes embossed die cut left, so I decided to use it as a focal point on a smaller tag. I die cut the scalloped tag die from the Tag Adornments die set using some super sparkly pink glitter cardstock, then mounted the snowflake die cut in the center of the tag using foam adhesive. I added some extra sparkle to the details of the snowflake die cut with some Taffy and Clear Pawsitively Dazzling Gems, finally adding a coordinating pink ribbon loop from which I could hang my tag on a package!
