Reverse Confetti March 2018 Release-Day 3!

Good morning! I’m back today with Day 3 of the Reverse Confetti March 2018 Sneak Peeks!

Monday we had freaking adorable bears and seals, yesterday we had beautiful blooms and foliage, and today we are bringing you….

 

My Sunshine! Aren’t those sentiments just precious??

We also have the Stitched Rays cover panel, which is going to be SO versatile.

For my project today, I wanted to use that precious “you are my sunshine” sentiment from the My Sunshine set. (I sing that song to my kiddos, so I just had to use this sentiment first!!) I started by die cutting the sun rays and the circle from some sunny yellow card stock that I had in my stash and heat embossed the sweet sentiment in white. I then used Nuvo Glimmer Paste in Moonstone to cover the sun’s rays. Get your sunglasses out. SO sparkly!!!

While the glimmer paste was drying, I did some work on the card front. I die cut the Stitched Rays cover plate from some Bristol paper, then blended Butter Bar and Soft Sky inks. I absolutely love the way this turned out… it almost looks realistic! I adhered the pieces of my sun together, then added them to the card front using foam adhesive.

The finishing touch was to add some sunny sequins and jewels to add even more sparkle.

Rose Gold Christmas.

Hi! I had the opportunity to spend this past weekend at a retreat with some seriously amazing crafty ladies. Not only did I laugh until my sides hurt, I was able to glean some amazing inspiration just by being in the room with them. (Learning by osmosis? Possibly.) I created several different bits and pieces, and I spent yesterday morning using them to finish off some cards. This first one is an homage to rose gold. Not a traditional holiday color, but what does “traditional” really mean anymore? I enjoy red and green, silver and gold, but I love a good, non-traditional holiday card.

The intricacy of this ornament die set from Concord and 9th’s Ornamental (C9|SSS|EH) is absolutely stunning. There are so many ways to customize your ornaments… the sky is the limit. I saw some beautiful ornaments this weekend using this die set created from foil paper and knew that I just had to make my own when I got home. I had a package from Simon Says Stamp waiting for me when I got home, containing a package of Tonic Rose Gold Burnished Foil Papers. These foil papers picked up the details in these dies beautifully. I die cut the detailed layer from this lovely Rose Gold Foil, then added a solid ornament die cut behind it, cut from some glitter paper from a DCWV 6×6 stack.

(Please excuse the poor lighting in this photo. Fall has decided to arrive, but along with it has come some dreary gray skies and rain. Beggars can’t be choosers, I guess. But gray skies=sad photos.)

After completing my ornament, I stamped some of the individual holiday florals and foliage from the Ornamental (C9|SSS|EH) stamp set using Blush ink from Altenew on a white card base. I wanted a very subtle background, one that wouldn’t detract from the intricacy of the die cut ornament. I added the ornament to the card front, off-setting it a bit and trimming off the edge. For the greeting, I used a standalone Concord and 9th die set that was released last month: Season of Cheer (C9|SSS|EH). I die cut all three pieces from some charcoal card stock, then backed the banner bits with some vellum to really make those letters stand out. I adhered them to the ornament. I covered the “Cheer” with some Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen, then added some Nuvo Crystal Glaze to really make it pop.

For a few finishing touches, I added a twine bow around the top of the ornament, then added a few little Studio Katia silver foil gems here and there. (They’re new and they catch the light beautifully.) Lots of different textures and layers on this card, but I think it will still mail fairly easily!
