Good morning! I have the pleasure of taking part in a blog hop celebrating Altenew’s newest Build A Flower release: Hyacinth. You should have arrived here from Virginia Lu‘s blog, and your next stop is Kristina Pokazanieva’s blog. The stamps and dies in this newest release are absolutely stunning, and as perfectly detailed as we all have come to expect from Altenew’s stamps. The Build A Flower: Hyacinth comes with a large 6×8 layering stamp set, and Altenew is also offering a discounted bundle featuring the Hyacinth stamps and dies, as well as layering inks which work perfectly with the layering stamps!

For my project, I wanted to create a little garden of hyacinth flowers, blowing in the breeze against a bright spring sky. I created the bottom layer of hyacinth flowers a bit differently than normal; I began by blending a layer of Lavender Fields ink using the Picket Fence Studios Life Changing Brushes at the bottom of my white A2 card base, then stamping just the top two layers of the hyacinth stamps using Deep Iris and Midnight Violet inks. I wanted to create a subtle haze of purple for that bottom layer, which I think added a bit of a dreamy, ethereal feel to the overall card. I stamped the greenery using Volcano Lake, Lagoon, and Emerald inks.

Next, I die cut one of the coordinating die cuts from some white card stock and stamped all three layers of purple to create the fully-stamped version of the new Hyacinth stamp set.

After I’d finished stamping all of the beautiful florals, I blended Altenew’s Persian Blue again using the Life Changing Blending Brushes, to create just the hint of a bright blue sky.

I popped up the die cut hyacinth using some foam tape to add lots of extra dimension to the card, then added a stamped sentiment from the new Build A Flower Hyacinth on a strip of card stock and popped that up, too. I added a few gems here and there for some sparkle.
