Hi there! I’m back again for a blog hop featuring the January 2020 Altenew Release. You should have arrived here from Norine Borys and your next stop is Kymona Tracey. This month’s release is absolutely gorgeous, of course featuring some incredible florals! You can find all of the details on this release here. I have two projects for you today, so let’s get started with the details!
For my first project, I did some no-line watercoloring using my Daniel Smith watercolors and the new Wild Flora stamps and dies! I began by stamping the flowers using some pale ink on watercolor paper, then watercolored the images using several Daniel Smith watercolors.
I die cut the Lace Doily Edge die from some white cardstock, then layered the floral watercolored die cuts on a white A2 card base using foam adhesive. I adhered the lacy doily die cut over the top of the floral die cuts using liquid and foam adhesive.
I stamped a greeting from the Sentiment Strips stamp set and added it to the card front. Finally, I adhered some gems for a bit of extra sparkle!
For my second project, I used the new Simple Beauty stamps and dies to create this vibrant floral cluster. I began by stamping the main floral image twice on some Copic-friendly cardstock, as well as several of the smaller sprigs of flowers on the white Copic-friendly card base. I then used my Copic markers in shades of shocking pink, peach, and deep greens to color the images.
Before adhering the die cuts to the card base, I used a blender brush to blend some Magenta ink around the edge of the card front, creating a deep pink halo. I adhered the floral die cuts using foam adhesive for lots of dimension.
I die cut a super thin “hello” using Handwritten Hello from some black cardstock, as well as white embossed a greeting, again from Sentiment Strips on a strip of black cardstock. I adhered both of these over the top of the floral cluster using liquid adhesive. Finally, I used a very thin black marker to add some clusters of black dots to help fill in some of the gaps in the floral cluster.
