Good morning! Today, I am super excited to be a guest on the MFT & Friends blog hop celebrating the new My Favorite Things release for December! Each month, My Favorite Things has a blog hop with both the design team and a few guests to help introduce their newest products, and I’m super excited to be taking part today! I have two projects showing some of the goodies in today’s release, so let’s get started with the details!

I wanted to keep things in a pretty pink and gold color scheme, so I pulled out some sparkling gold embossing powder to pair with some pink coloring and ink blending.

For my first card, I die cut the Mesmerizing Mandala standalone die from some white cardstock, then pressed my embossing ink pad directly to the die cut and covering it with the sparkly gold embossing powder. I melted the first layer of powder, then covered it with embossing ink and powder again to create a nice thick layer of gold sparkle. I also die cut the new Big Smile Die-namics from some white cardstock.

For the card base, I blended two different shades of pink ink using blender brushes around the edge of a white A2 card base. I adhered the sparkling mandala die cut to the card front using liquid adhesive, then added the smile die cuts using foam adhesive. The final touch was to add some sparkling gems around the edges of the mandala!

For my second card, I used the absolutely beautiful new Rose Garden stamps and dies. I began by stamping the main floral bouquet on some white cardstock using Copic-friendly black ink, then coloring it in a variety of pinks and some pretty lime green leaves.

For the background, I used the new Cross-Hatch Polka Dot Background stamp with some more sparkly gold embossing powder. The gold embossing powder isn’t a super deep, bright gold, but a bit more subtly iridescent, making it an almost tone-on-tone background. I also stamped a greeting from the new sentiment set on some vellum and heat embossed it with some deeper gold embossing powder, then fussy cut the greeting. I adhered the colored floral bouquet to the polka dotted background using foam tape, then added the greeting using clear foam tape. The final touch was to add some sparkling gems!
Well, that’s all for my projects today! I will be back on the MFT blog later this month with some more inspiration using the newest release. Be sure to check out the MFT blog for all of the stops on the blog hop. Thanks so much for stopping by today, and have a marvelous day!
