Hi there! Today is the October Altenew Stamp and Die release, and I’m super excited to be a stop on the blog hop! You should have arrived here from Virginia Lu, and your next stop is Tania Ahmed. You can also start at the Altenew Card Blog for the full list. I have two projects today, so let’s get started with the details!

For this first project, I used the new Simple Roses Stamps+Dies paired with the new Altenew Mini Blending Brushes for some subtle, pretty color. I began by heat embossing several images from Simple Roses Stamps+Dies using white pearl embossing powder on white cardstock, then used the Mini Blending Brushes and Pocketful of Sunshine inks to add some color to the flowers and Green Valley for the leaves. I also added a bit of subtle shading to the flowers using some Prismacolor pencils.

Yellow and gray is one of my favorite color combinations, so I created a super textured, tone-on-tone background for my bright flowers using the Circle Quilt Cover Die. I die cut the Circle Quilt Cover Die from some light gray cardstock, then, leaving all of the interior die cuts intact, adhered it to a panel of A2 cardstock covered in a thick layer of Scor-Tape.

I arranged the Simple Roses die cuts on the textured background, then heat embossed a greeting from Simple Roses on some dark charcoal cardstock using white embossing powder and fussy cut around it. The final step was to add some cheerful yellow gems for a bit of sparkle!

For my second project, I used the new Sweet Flowers Stamps+Dies. I stamped the outline flowers from Sweet Flowers Stamps using some Copic-friendly black ink to create a full patterned background panel, then colored them a rich, velvety purple and mustard. (Channeling autumn over here!)

Next, I die cut a deep purple diamond using the Fine Frames Diamond dies, as well as a glittery copper outline diamond slightly smaller than the purple. I embossed a greeting from Sweet Flowers in the center of the purple diamond using white embossing powder, then accented around it with the glittering diamond frame.

To add a bit of interest to the patterned background panel, I trimmed three very thin strips of black cardstock and adhered them to the patterned panel using liquid adhesive, then added the sentiment diamond over the top using foam tape, offset slightly and the overhang trimmed off. The final touch was to add some black gems for some added texture and sparkle!
