Good morning! Today, I am excited to be a part of the Altenew Build A Flower blog hop for April! This month, Altenew is offering a lovely new flower to their Build A Flower lineup: Sweet Violet. You should have arrived here from Laurie Willison‘s blog and your next stop is Lilith Eeckels’s blog. (Or you can start over at the Altenew Card Blog if you get lost. Read all the way to the end to find out some fun giveaway information!

As always, the Sweet Violet Build A Flower set comes with a large 6×8 stamp set and coordinating dies. There is also a bundle that includes ink that works perfectly with the layering stamps included in the set, and it’s available for a discounted price!

I created two projects for today’s hop, using the outline stamps from the Sweet Violet stamp set and my Copic markers, so let’s get started with the details!

Copic colors: V04, V09, V15, V17, T10, BG09, BG57, BG78
For my first project, I began by stamping and die cutting the outline images from Build a Flower: Sweet Violet onto some Copic-friendly white card stock, then coloring them a lovely shade of royal purple using my Copic markers. For my first card, I decided to make a simple nosegay of the pretty violets, clustering three of them together with a leaf. I blended a little Deep Iris ink as a halo, then die cut “sweet” from the Inline Alpha die set three times each and stacked them together. (Side note: I love when sentiment stamps are simple and can be stacked multiple ways, like the sentiments in the Build A Flower sets.)

After all of my die cuts were complete, I adhered the nosegay of flowers to the blended white panel, then added the sentiment strips and stacked sentiment die cuts on the card front suing foam adhesive. I also added a few jewels for some sparkle.

For my second project, I again began with another white card base, then die cut one of the Leaf Frame Cover Plate from some more white card stock to add some subtle texture to the card base. I arranged a large bouquet of the Copic-colored Sweet Violets and added them to the textured card front using foam tape.

I stamped a greeting from the Sweet Violet stamp set on some strips of white card stock, then added them to the card front using foam tape. The final touch was a few gems for some sparkle.
